Guest guest
Leigh, I'm sorry I didn't see your post until now, but welcome back home! Of course I'm still here-who else would take me? LOL! I'm thrilled to hear that the relaxation techniques I taught you have helped so much. We also have something in common now. I have arthritis in my lower back as well, in the lumbar region on down, in the facet joints. Mixes really well with Fibro, let me tell you (NOT!). I had RF nerve ablations done on my L3-S1 region back in September I think it was, and they helped, but now the effects of it have totally worn off. The day after Christmas was when it really hit me hard. Ouch, sounds like that fall was pretty nasty. Did you fall on top of your arm, or did the breaks happen from you trying to cushion your fall? My husband broke his arm really bad like that right before we started dating, he was wrestling with a friend, went down, and the other guy fell on top of him. He has plates and screws in his arm too, and two long scars on his arm. True friends who stick by you through chronic pain are a rare breed. I only have a couple left who are " normals " , the rest are CP'ers themselves. And as for people not understanding our need for pain medication, this past Saturday, my own DAUGHTER made a snide comment about it when I took a pain pill. I'm pretty sure that my niece has her convinced that I'm addicted to my pain medication, that I don't just take it for pain, and so that I can function, like you. But you do have friends. You have all of us, who know and care about you right here. I know it's not the same as having people " right there " , but you know you can always come here, and you will get support and understanding, and you don't have to explain your pain to anyone because we already know it, or justify your need for medications! I'm so sorry to hear that your mother was diagnosed with early dementia. That can't be easy on anyone involved, especially in deciding who will tell her. Hasn't she noticed any signs of it though? I think if it were me, I'd want to know early on, so that I could enjoy as much of things as I could before I lost the ability to remember them. Again, welcome back Leigh. I totally understand the need for a break, but I'm glad you found your way back to us! Jen Z.
