Guest guest
Hi All, It is easter time already so I thought I would wish you all the best. An update on our little man. Torin is now 3 1/2. He is running around if a little unsteady at times. He can climb stairs well holding the rail with his good hand, but going down is not so good, really quite dangereous as he thinks he can do everything. He attends the Deaf School 4 days a week from 9 to 3 and is progressing slowly. He has no words but is starting to sign. He was reviewed by the specialist in PMG who works with Dr Dobyns. He was surprised how good he was saying he was one of the best CMV kids he has ever seen. The damage is in speech areas so he doubts that we will get speech. He has been wrong about other stuff so heres hoping. Our little man is a very big boy and is getting better and better at eating and swollowing and is quite fat really. He can now deal with his own choking and is so much easier to look after. The spacitity in his right side is much better and he is trying to use his right hand all the time. He can now use it to help picking things up and holding things down. It may never be great but he is working on it. We are so lucky here in Melbourne. The Deaf school is within walking distance and The Ceberal Palsy Centre is a short drive away. My daughter is getting help from many people but still it is a bit of a strugle. I moved house in September Just 9 houses from her to help out and joy of all she is having another baby abd it is a girl. We are so excited and the doctors assure her that there is no possibility that the new baby will have problems so fingers crossed. Grandma Carol. Torin 3 1/2, PMG, Bilateral bionic ears, hemiplagia and assorted mouth issues but my beautiful little redhaired boy.
