Guest guest
Is any familiar with the Juice Plus vitamins? Anyone taking them? Thanks, cindylee
Guest guest
lee, When I am curious about something, I go to their website and look for study citations. Then I track down the studies to evaluate them for scientific validity. I did this with Juice Plus, but briefly. I had never heard of them before, but I recognize that Gummivites have a similar product out so it must be a new fad. I was not impressed by the power of their studies, but I didn't look at more than a couple of the citations. One of the studies related effects after a high-fat meal so might not apply to us DSers. The other study compared the effects to placebo only and not to other vitamins. How much so they cost? Are they worth it to you? They might be good for you if you like the idea of taking a natural vitamin. Nothing I read suggests that they are not as good as a regular vitamin, but also, did not suggest they are better than cheaper supplements. Hope this helps, Marta > > Is any familiar with the Juice Plus vitamins? Anyone taking them? > > Thanks, cindylee >
Guest guest
All I know is that they are a " business Opportunity " type product. I didn't want to get involved in an " amway " situation, and was turned off before I investigated the product. I also think they are expensive. What did you find out? Guest guest
Hi Betsy, I too am turned off by the MLM (multilevel marketing) but thought if they were beneficial to me/us DS'ers I would overlook my issues. I have read a good bit - both the literature provided by JP and others. I have not come to a conclusion. However, if it was NOT MLM I would be less suspicious. I have only heard form one DS user of the product. Their packaging does not offer RDA info. - not sure why. My first thought was " too good to be true " - that is what I thought of the DS too! hugs, cindylee > > All I know is that they are a " business Opportunity " type product. Guest guest
Hi Marta, I have done a good bit of reading. Haven't come to my conclusion yet. Was hoping to hear from some users of the product. I tried some of the kids' chewables and had an instant tummy ache. Also read they contain a good bit of enzymes so I wondered if any DS'ers had experienced weight gain while taking the product. hugs, cindylee > > > > Is any familiar with the Juice Plus vitamins? Guest guest
Oh, I didn't even check the ingredients. The kids gummivite veggie version tastes like crap. They were sampling them at Costco so I tried all the versions. Yuck. Good to be wary of the enzymes. That would reverse your DS. Marta > > Hi Marta, > > I have done a good bit of reading. Guest guest
If it adds digestive enzymes back into the food as you eat it, it will reverse the effects of the Y portion of the DS.
