Pearl - Dr K did the breasts and arms at the same time. I had quite a

time with the healing of the arms, the drains, and excessive bleeding.

Took a long time to heal. Didn't do much with Vitamin E, altho my

massage therapist told me he had wonderful oils he would use on me once

I was healed.

Well, I haven't been back for massages since healing, so... At 2 1/2

yrs the scars are greatly reduced, tho still reddish. I'd rather see

them than the flab that was there all those man years! Again, I feel

certain Dr K's expertise has sharpened in the intervening 2 1/2 yrs.

> Now I have new thoughts going through my head. How many out there

that have had their panni removed wish they had not had it done? Since

several have said they miss their stomachs, do they wish they had

them back now? Was it because of the surgery, problems with the

surgery, or what that caused them to miss them? I have seen before

and after pictures of Marta, Pat, and Sharon and I cannot imagine

them missing their stomachs, yet Marta and Pat both have said they

do. I am now trying to figure out if I am making a mistake.

Hi Pearl

I love my flat stomach! I would definately do it over again!!!

I am thinking that Pat and Marta mean the same thing I do when I look

at an old picture of me and say, that was when I was pretty.....

I wouldnt go back for a million....but I was " pretty " in my mind

before surgery and now I look different. I dont think either of them

meant that they wish they hadnt done it, just that it is different and

they miss the old and normal....am I making any sense here at all?

lol

Pearl, I dont believe you are making a mistake. I would never have

felt that I was successful in this surgery if I hadnt had all that

skin removed. I never got thin like everyone else. I still have huge

legs and junk in my trunk...and without having the flat tummy, i would

be hugely disappointed. Yes, I lost 160 lbs and have kept 140 lbs

off, but to the " world " I am still fat. So my feeling of success

comes from my flat tummy.

So, Pearl, it is up to you, but if you want my opinion....GO FOR IT!!!

I am happy with mine, I do not miss that huge hanging flap of skin,

nor do I miss the rashes and irritation it caused. I dont miss

tucking it into pants and zipping it in the zipper I dont miss the

size 18s it caused me to wear and love the 14s I can wear.

Did I say I love my flat tummy?

prayers for what ever you decide,

Sharon in Onyx

*******Yep, learned that from watching " Pretty Woman " ...lol,

I absolutely loved your belly button survey. I would check Mikes, but

it would lead to other things....mmm Think I will take a survey of my own!

love you

I am SOOO glad that I had my panni removed! Sadly, when I had mine done (4

years ago?) I didn't know that getting the mons lifted at the same time would be

a good idea. I think I was one of the first ones to have mine done.....so who

knew? I am very happy with the results.

Who missed their stomachs?? I can't imagine that!! I have to do some catch

up reading! We've had daughter issues and I've been out of touch !

Pearl,

I did not intend to give the impression that I miss my tummy. Either

I did a typo or you misread it. I should go back and check since that

is the second time you said this. Yoiks! Forgive my laziness!

I HATED my pannus and felt deformed, just for the record. Having it

cut off and thrown in the trash was the best thing that ever happened

to me! I mean, it edged out losing weight, can you believe it?

I think when I said having my panni removed was a very big deal for

me, it was misleading. What I meant was it was a very big GOOD deal

for me! lol

I dont regret mine either. Even with all the complications. I only

wish I had waited till I was further out from my other surgeries and I

had it done in the USA.

But I " love " having a flat tummy. It's made me feel so good I wish I

could get up the courage to have more plastics. Im just too chicken

now.

I had an extended tummy tuck (anchor incision to the back of my hips),

a mons lift, breast lift and jawline liposuction.

Pearl,

Word of warning! Do not use Vitamin E on new incisions. It will relax

the tissues and cause the incision line to spread. My Plastic Surgeon Stressed

to me again and again to NOT use anything with Vitamin E on my incision. When

I had poor healing he asked me even if I was checking any lotion and any

other stuff I might have rubbed on the areas if I checked them before and

looked

for Vit E. I know it wasn't Just me as he was just as cautious when

had her Breast reduction. I Know everything I read says Vit E fades scars but

he was adamant....LOL.

Maybe this is a new finding?

Wow Mel, I had never heard that before. I had heard about Vitamin E being

good for making scars less, but had never heard or even thought about it being

bad for new incisions. Thank you very much for telling me this. I really

appreciate the heads up.
