Guest guest
Okay, this is an interesting subject and just goes to prove that this group isn't just about supporting one another but also trying to " figure it out " so to speak, lol... My story is that when I was a young teen (around 11 or 12) I always had the flu. High fevers with it, achy body, throat so sore I wouldn't eat or drink, on & on. When finally dx'd at the age of 26, the docs all agreed that it was Still's all along. My childhood was uneventful. Great parents, always there for me, I did well in school. BUT... (you knew that was coming, right??) when I graduated from High School, I moved away to a University and what a dramatic difference it was! I was totally homesick! The stress of school and being away from my " normal-ness " caused my first major flare. When I say major, I mean I was hospitalized. So, for me, stress has always aggravated it. And I find that it's usually a delayed reaction. For instance, when I left my abusive husband (he thought I was a hypochondriac!) and moved from Florida back to Kentucky, it was very traumatic. However, I moved back in August of that year and it was November before it all hit me again! That has always been the pattern for me! In the beginning, I only flared in the Fall. Never could figure that one out! Now, it doesn't matter, it happens whenever it wants to. When something stressful is going on, my family always watches me like a hawk, knowing it could come out at any time. There have been a couple times when I was going through some major stress when it DIDN'T happen, but the pattern is that when it DOES happen, some traumatic event in my life has recently occured. Doc says, Don't stress. Ha! Easy for him to say! My 2 cents.
