Guest guest
Jan, there's a La Quinta fairly close by. I know they have airport transportation. There's no restaurant in the hotel, although they have one of those make-it-yourself breakfast buffets (high in carbs). I don't know the answer to your other questions, though. When DH & I stayed there, we had a car, so I wasn't checking the availability of restaurants nearby. Here's the website: http://www.lq.com/lq/properties/propertyProfile.do?ident=LQ922 & propId=922 And the phone: Jan wrote: > I am having a hard time finding a suitable place to stay for my trip to > Lubbock. Guest guest
Jan, when I was there last I did notice a shuttle with a sign that said something like " Lubbock Hotel & Suites, formerly Four Points Sheraton " . I'm not sure of the exact name, though...just did a google and the " best rate " sites are all that came up for me, too. I do know it had " Lubbock " and " Suites " in the name. Sorry I'm not more help! > > I am having a hard time finding a suitable place to stay for my trip to > > Lubbock. Guest guest
Jan, go here http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result? name= & addr=21st+St+At+Memphis+Ave & state=TX & csz=Lubbock% 2C+TX+79410 & ds=n & uzip=79410 & mag=2 & desc= & country= & dma= & cat=trav & resize= l & trf=0 & lat=33.576 & lon=-101.8964 & mlt=33.576 & mln=- 101.8964 & rezoom=1 & .intl=us & addrtype=12 & compass= & BFKey=ho and click on hotels under Travel & Transportation. It will list all the hotels in the area. You can also enlarge the map and see all the hotels. Local telephone numbers are listed. You might try the Guesthouse, which is about a block from Dr R's office, and it says it's handicap accessible. > > I am having a hard time finding a suitable place to stay for my trip to Lubbock. Guest guest
There's a steak restaurant in Lubbock that delivers a very nice steak dinner anywhere in town. It's called " Steak " something, under restaurants in the yellow pages, or Dr. R's office knows the name of it. If you're only staying one night that might work for you. There's also a Subway between the Lubbock Inn and the La Quinta. > > Jan, there's a La Quinta fairly close by. I know they have airport > transportation. Guest guest
Lol -- that's why I keep recommending it to all our hypo friends who travel to Lubbock! Abundant iron in those juicy red steaks ... > > > I will keep the steak place in mind. I need to work on my ferritin levels. . . . >
Guest guest
Haha, no we didn't think ahead to bring our utensils. I honestly don't remember those kinds of details, only that the meal was good and it came with generous servings of salad and vegetables, baked potato, and rolls. And we didn't have to get dressed to go out. If it was plasticware it had to have been the good kind ... > > Do you have to bring your own steak knife and fork? I can't imagine eating steak with plasticware. . . . > >
