Guest guest
I was just taking the Spring Valley liquid for the B12 and still am. The folic acid I have now is a cheap Walmart variety, hard tab form, but I was taking a liquid one with other stuff in it from the Walmart, but can't remember the name of it. I'm getting the feeling that I'm now neglectin this and need to go back to faithfully taking the liquid, since I don't always eat in a day what I need. One reason that I was short, proably, is that I was more severely hypo at the time, as it was showing up as an anemia in my RBCs. I know that there are better brands out there. Some of the other people on this group are taking a prescription one for the folic acid, and I think it's called Foltz or something like that? would know. recommendations on Folic Acid and B12 , you mentioned Folic Acid and it caught my attention being that Dr. R just suggested I take a supplement for it. Do you have a suggestion for a certain kind or is it all the same? Same for B12.
Guest guest
The prescription one you're talking about is the Metanx/Foltx, but I couldn't take that one, it was way too much for me, it made me feel really weird/zombieish.... I'll probably just go to Whole Foods and ask someone there. Thanks for your help ) Yahoo! Mail Use Photomail to share photos without annoying attachments. Guest guest
Some of Dr. R's patients take Metanx, which is the new version of Foltx. It requires a prescription. wrote: I was just taking the Spring Valley liquid for the B12 and still am. Guest guest
Twinlabs B12 dots are good. I also use their folic acid, B6 and biotin, along with their Daily One with Iron and Multimineral. Twinlab is my preferred brand because it does not have a lot of extra junk added to it.Imelda Macias wrote: The prescription one you're talking about is the Metanx/Foltx, but I couldn't take that one, it was way too much for me, it made me feel really weird/zombieish.... Guest guest
And anything you can get at Whole Foods, you can probably get cheaper at Vitaminshoppe. Jan wrote: Twinlabs B12 dots are good. Guest guest
Thanks for the recommendation, if you recommend it, it's probably a good one )Jan wrote: Twinlabs B12 dots are good. Guest guest
I just switched from Twinlabs to Jarrow Formula Methyl B-12, as Twinlabs uses a formulation designed to be exactly like the shots. Apparently, it does not metabolize as well as methalcobalamin (Methyl B-12) in the small intestine. I was told this information at Whole Foods, and then verified it through at Dr. R's. I've been on the new formulation for three days. Not able to tell a difference yet, as I am on my menstrual cycle this week, which tends to muddy my experiments, so to speak. Regarding Whole Foods, the thing I like about them is their knowledge. So far, they've been 10 for 10 giving good, honest information. Best-- Courtenay. --- Jan wrote: > And anything you can get at Whole Foods, you can > probably get cheaper at Vitaminshoppe. >
Guest guest
Foltex, which has been reformulated to Metanx is the prescription you were talking about. I didn't react well to Foltex (Foltx?), but I seem to be the only one here who couldn't handle it. Guest guest
The folks at your Whole Foods must be sharper than the ones at mine. They are The Gang That Can't Shoot Straight. Then there is the original East Dallas Whole Foods where most of the help walks around in cannabis clouds. . . . Guest guest
I've had no problems with Metanx. Guest guest
Ah, I see. That makes sense. Most of the people who work the vitamin department at the one in SA are these super healthy hippies. Now, Sun Harvest, on the other hand, does not seem to have knowledgeable people here. I don't know if it's cannibis, or just a case of the I-don't-know,I-don't-cares. --- Jan wrote: > The folks at your Whole Foods must be sharper than > the ones at mine.
