Guest guest
I don't take it myself, but a lot of folks have had trouble with Metanx, also with DHEA. (I am the one who can eat nails and rat poison . . . . .) It sounds like your DH is one of those folks who have difficulty tolerating the hormones and supplements. I Dr. R says go back on them at half dose after a week, then that is what he should do. If he is nervous about adding them all back in at once, he might want to ask the doc if he could add them in one at a time, in which case, I would do the Armour first and the Metanx last. granny2bk wrote: Hi,My name is Jeanne and I go to Dr. Rob too. I've gone to him since Oct 03 (thyroidectomy). My husband went to him a few weeks ago and was put on Dhea, Tetesterone, low dose Armour and Metanx. He got the flu right after starting meds and since then has had depression and anxiety which he didn't have before all this. He also can't sleep at night. Dr. Rob told him to get off of everything for a week and start back on the Armour with just half of what he was taking. My question is-he is just starting to feel better yesterday and today-do you think he should start on the Armour or wait some more? Has anyone here had any bad effects from the metanx? I know it is just B vitamins but just wandering. Thanks! Yahoo! Photos Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars. Guest guest
Then, yes, definitely call and ask if he can start them one at a time. granny2bk wrote: Hi,> My name is Jeanne and I go to Dr. Rob too. Guest guest
I did have a bad reaction from Metanx, I felt really dizzy, sleepy and just weird, sort of anxious I guess, so Dr. R said to stop taking it for now.granny2bk wrote: Hi,My name is Jeanne and I go to Dr. Rob too. Guest guest
A few of us have had strange reactions to METANX. Courtenay thinks it might be the folate causing it. I have taken it and just felt extremely tired and then sometimes it didn't seem to affect me at all. But in answer to your question, yes, it has made some of us feel terrible. > > Hi, > My name is Jeanne and I go to Dr. Rob too. I've gone to him since Oct > 03 (thyroidectomy). That's also around the same time I started feeling bad which I hadn't in a long time prior to taking the Metanx. My husband is afraid to reintroduce anything back now. Guest guest
I do not know the exact doses, but Metanx contains huge doses of B vitamins. That is why you need a prescription to get it. Rather than smashing the Metanx pills, I think it would make more sense to buy low dose B vitamins over the counter. A lot of the Twinlab products are capsules filled with loose powder, so you could take just a pinch if even those doses are too large. That brand also does not contain a lot of extraneous ingredients that could cause a reaction. granny2bk wrote: > >> > Hi,> > My name is Jeanne and I go to Dr. Rob too. Guest guest
Twinlabs products have been really kind to me. I'm taking their B12 right now, and it has not caused too many problems. --- Jan wrote: A lot of the Twinlab products are > capsules filled with loose powder, so you could take > just a pinch if even those doses are too large.
