Guest guest
If you can give me contact information - I can add a page to our list website and post them there for the benefit of everyone. I will put that you compiled the list Kim. I know I have several on the Autism Resource Guide on www.TexasAutismAdvocacy.org - but by no means is it as comprehensive as your list. May I include your list on the website? Could you maybe provide a contact for each one? Number, e-mail, or website? thanks..... michelle guppy Kim wrote: I get asked for these resources all the time (private schools and/or ABA Centers in Texas for children with autism). If you go to their website look on the left hand side of the page and you will see the menu links, click on Resources, then click on Local Clinics and voila! A couple of weeks ago I met Kim Wallace and she told me her ABA clinic Spectrum of Hope is opening a small school program but she said she was still working with contractors and that the experience was becoming hellish so I'm guessing it's not yet operational. I also talked to a dad recently at the disability conference who said his non-verbal, non-potty trained 11 year old is on a waiting list for the Arbor School so you probably could add these two in Houston to the list. Also Special Cheers which is operated by an Occupational Therapist is conducting fundraising efforts in hopes of expanding her clinic with perhaps future plans to include a small special ed. school (also in Houston). Guest guest
Also, Westview is an " autism " school, often touted as " the " autism school. There is also the Arbor School, and the Rise School, both for learning differences. I really like Crossroads and the school also both for learning differences with behaviors thrown in (NOT specializing in autism). There is also the Cliffwood School for learning differences. Including Kids, Inc. is an ABA clinic in the Kingwood area. She's actually started some small classrooms. Also BTTC (Behavior Treatment and Training Center). Guest guest
Thanks for all the input and we'll check out the websites and add the resources you have all recommended. Yes of course add it to the TAA website once it's complete. It doesn't need to have my name on it I just wanted to get it done - I know you already have a link there ready to go. Tonya thanks for the offer and I'll take you up on it and email you privately. Thanks everyone! Kim
Guest guest
Oh, silly me, I totally forgot about the Parish School, a school for kids with speech delay and hyperactivity. Also, the St. Center for Young Children,(learning differences) and the Joy School (also learning differences with a goal to mainstream) Crossroads and The School (otherwise known as the Child Development Center) are also " short term " programs geared towards reintegrating the child into a typical general education setting S. Guest guest
The Therapy House in Ft. Worth just opened a school for children affected by autism and those that are on the spectrum. They do ABA therapy and the classes have children not affected by austism in the classes. --- Singleton wrote: > Oh, silly me, I totally forgot about the Parish > School, a school > for kids with speech delay and hyperactivity. > Also, the St. Center for Young > Children,(learning differences) > and the Joy School (also learning differences with a > goal to > mainstream) > > Crossroads and The School (otherwise known as > the Child > Development Center) are also " short term " programs > geared towards > reintegrating the child into a typical general > education setting > S. > > > Re: Private > schools/ABA Centers in TX > > > Thanks for all the input and we'll check out the > websites and add the > resources you have all recommended.
