Guest guest
Marla, I got an e-mail too. I had my baseline bone scan about 3 years before my DS and my second scan 6.5 months after. , you would know because it involves have x-rays taken. I think typically you don't have it done unless a bone problem is suspected or you have turned 50 - when you get a baseline taken (kind of like having a baseline mammogram taken at age 40). Guest guest
I had my first " strange and wonderful " experience yesterday. I have lost about 132.5 pounds. Yesterday we went to our old hometown and went to a furniture store where we used to do business before we moved to Denver in 1996. We used to go in there often. The owner looked at me and did a double take. Then he cautiously approached me and said, " how long have you been married? " I replied that we had been married 42 years. He said, " wow, you have really lost a lot of weight. I thought I would be careful and make sure you were the same wife and not a new one. You look great. " I cracked up. It was so funny. He asked me what I had done and because I haven't told anyone about the surgery I didn't say anything. He said his wife has the same weight problem and that he knows it is a gene thing. That is pretty progressive thinking for a small town guy and he understands his wife's situation. He may deliver the furniture we ordered on a camping trip to this area. If I get a chance I will share the DS story with them then. Marla DS: 2-9-
