Guest guest
, One of the things this whole incident shows is how divorced from reality and the land we as a people have become. Several of those in the over 50 and 60 age group were not at all surprised by this 'event' as in this area chances are they have a relative who was pushed out of the dairy business by the big companies already. Nor were they stupid enough to think rabies shots were necessary. Of course, a lot of them were drinking P & H milk anyway. The american education system has done such a wonderful job at convincing the masses that an 'expert' opinion is needed in order for them to pardon my crassness 'wipe their behinds'....think about it...if you have to ask permission to go to the restroom for 12 years, what IS the outcome of that training? We've gotten so used to just going through the motions of daily living and plugging into entertainment, that even if the research is right within our grasp, we don't have the mental prowess to use it properly to save our own lives. May this group all be a part of the re-training of those the Lord sends our way into more holistic thinkers, speaking LIFE, drinking my coffee with Swan brother's excellent raw cream as I type

Guest guest
Wasn't there a case reported once of a breastfeeding mother with rabies giving her baby rabies? Also, I had a class with a guy who's wife was a vet and he told us a story about a rabid cow passing along rabies to a calf...did anyone else here of these things I can try to find the source if not.... Guest guest
I've never heard or read about anything like this. Moreover, if a person has rabies, why were they still alive? If they received the vaccines for rabies after being bitten, I would think they would pass on the immunities to that, which might show a positive for rabies. The same with the cow. Warm blooded animals, including humans can not live with rabies.....it's a terminal thing. K.C. Guest guest
There was a unvaccinated teenage girl from Fond du Lac, WI that survived a bite from a rabies infected bat. Her story was well documented on news in Wisconsin. The doctors at Children's Hospital (I believe) performed a new therapy that well not an instant miracle, she has survived and is on the road to recover. While I wouldn't advise touching any potential carrier of rabies, there has been a cure in an infected human. It was her miraculous cure from being infected while trying to rescue a injured bat in a church, divine intervention indeed. Guest guest
Obviously a " tall tale " or an urban legend. The CDC says there has sbeen a case of rabies transmitted by milk - human or otherwise. Guest guest
Oops. I hit some keys inadvertantly and sent this typo'd version in error. I intended to say there has NEVER been a case.... Guest guest
There have been only 36 cases of rabies in the US since 1980. 58% were bat borne. No noted history is of a mother passing it on to the infant while breastfeeding. An infected mammal becomes sick and dies. There is no substantial evidence of a true carrier status in apparently well animals, except perhaps in bats. It is acquired from virus in saliva entering a bite wound caused by an infected animal, usually a rabid dog. The severity of the bite determines the risk of infection. The disease does not usually spread from man to man. Incubation After inoculation, the virus enters small nerve endings at the site of the bite. The virus slowly travels up the nerve to reach the CNS where it replicates and then travels down nerves to the salivary glands where there is further replication. The time it takes to do this depends upon the length of the nerve - a bite on the foot will have a very much longer incubation period than a bite on the face. The incubation period may last from two weeks to six months. Very often the primary wound is healed and forgotten by the time of clinical presentation. kathryn russell www.MajestyFarm.com " The one the tyrants fear is the man who knows his rights and is prepared to stand up for them. Guest guest
I used to work in a security company. (I was a security guard in several buildings) After the Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed, our company recommended a whole raft of changes in building security procedures. The changes didn't make anybody any safer. The changes caused a minor inconvenience to a few people. I figured that they were designed to make the building owners and occupants feel like they were getting their money's worth. I think that is what the local health officials are doing. They don't see getting the rabies vaccination as anything worse than a minor inconvenience. If they are asked what they are doing about the people who drank milk from a rabid cow, the can say they have recommended a positive course of action. Bureaucrats don't like to say that they are taking no action even if that is the correct thing to do. Even if they don't believe that there is any risk to having consumed the milk, they must do something.
