Guest guest
Hello Folks, This is Janet, the Raw Dairy list creator and owner. Some of the older members may remember Wayne and I, but we haven't posted in awhile do to time constraints. We're organic dairy farmers in Wisconsin, where it's illegal to sell raw dairy from the farm. A few years ago, after a 2-1/2 year battle with the state, we developed a legal farm share program that has been growing by leaps and bounds. We now have five farms in Wisconsin doing some version of our share program, and they're growing as fast as we are. To learn more about us visit our web site at www.midvalleyvu.com. Last month, on May 5, my husband Wayne took a fall 30 feet from the top of the Slurry Store (manure containment system). Wayne’s injuries include a broken back, shattered right leg (at the knee joint) and a severely dislocated right elbow. He has had surgery on the right leg to rebuild as much as possible, and will wear a turtle shell brace on his back for the next few months to allow his back to heal. He has relied on a wheelchair to get around until this past week, when he graduated to using a walker. Wayne will be disabled for a year or more, but considering the fall he took we're lucky he's still alive and will walk again! We, his family (myself, our daughter, son-in-law, and our two sons) have stepped up to the plate to keep the farm chores and our grocery store going, but it's been hard. We simply cannot fill his shoes. The spring plowing and crop planting was done by friends and neighbors, but most of the future fieldwork will have to be hired because we simply cannot keep up by ourselves. This is a costly expense that we cannot afford, especially on top of the fact that we do not have medical insurance and the medical expenses are growing at an unbelievable rate. Our shareholders are putting on a Benefit for Wayne and our farm on Saturday, June 17th. We're asking for your help to keep our farm going while Wayne is disabled during the next year. If you can donate funds or items for our Silent Auction it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much, Janet Brunner Midvalleyvu Farms Benefit Location: Wayne and Janet Brunner’s (Midvalleyvu Farms) W8481 County Rd Z Arkansaw, WI 54721 Date: Saturday, June 17 2006 Time: 11AM – 4PM Lunch: Buffalo Burgers, Brats, Beans, Salads, Chips, Milk and Ice Cream Silent Auction and Cash Donations Speaker: Annette Fischer from Wilderness Family Naturals (Helping people to make healthy choices.) Guest guest
Dear Janet, I'm sending a check today. It won't be a big one,($20.00) but I cannot look the other way when you ask for help. I am indebted to you. I hope Wayne heals quickly, and soundly. says we are now 1000 strong. Surely, we can pull together and help the founder of Raw Dairy keep her farm afloat? -Blair > > Hello Folks, > > This is Janet, the Raw Dairy list creator and owner.
