The US shouldn't care much because finding this case means that the system that is in place up here to catch these animals is working. You have had BSE in the US also in an animal that didn't trace to Canada. We have had the same treatment from Japan as the US but you can't blame Canada because some US slaughter plant worker screwed up and sent vertebrae in meat to Japan. You have been feeding the same things to your ruminants for as long as we did. Our feed bans pretty much are the same and were implemented at about the same times so blaming Canada for this is out of line. The other point is that in the 1980's a large number of British cows were brought to the US right before the feed bans and the British BSE outbreak.. Guess what, you guys have never been able to trace most of those animals. Do you seriously think you don't have a problem with this on your own soil just because none have shown up lately? Now I don't agree with your gov plan of NAIS and I would be fighting mad if I lived there too but this BSE has caused a huge lot of heartache on both sides of the border and you are not immune.

The NAIS was set up by Monsanta and the other multi-billion dollar

agribusiness in order to force out the little guy and get control over the

people of this country. It was based on the premise of controlling disease,

but it was all a lie.

Considering our country can't even figure out how to keep a back bone out of

the meat they send to Japan, how are they suppose to even control what

horrible things go on in this country is those filthy slaughter houses.

That's why the NAIS is so totally bogus.

Actually, they didn't find any BSE in the meat that was shipped, just a backbone which is not acceptable due to the possibility of BSE in the spinal fluid. At least that's what they said on the news here. Of course, we have BSE in this country. Anyone who doubts it is not seeing the trees for the forest.

The neat that was shipped was supposedly 100% U.S. beef.

Could you enlighten me on this? As I am only aware of ONE case. It was about 80 miles from me. In Mabton, WA. There was a suspected case as I recall but it turned out negative. Could you perhaps point me in the right direction to find this information?

Thanks,

Carmen

Sorry Debbie;

I guess I was under a rock when the second case was found. Perhaps it's because it was in Texas. Just found it on the internet. That cow, they say, was 12 years old and they don't know how she was infected.

You can start here and keep reading. I don't remember where eventually they confirmed her birthplace to be but it was the US.

I googled 2nd American case of BSE and I didn't read how old she was either. Hope this helps.

I was learning lots myself reading through some of those links I found. I know K.C. has talked about some awful things going on in her state that I haven't been able to find links for but that doesn't mean it isn't happening. I believe her I would just like to see the people being afflicted helped. Amazing in this day and age that people don't hear about these things.

I talked with my next door neighbor this am. He caught me feeding the bulls. I asked him if he'd write a statement for me on a legal matter I'm involved in right now. Just because he lives next door and pretty much sees everything that goes on over here. He summed up my life in about 5 seconds. Sure I'll write a statement for you, You do chores in the morning, go to work, come home, do chores and go to bed. ;) Although mostly true I do do other things too! :) However I don't watch much news or listen to the radio much. I get most of my information from email.

Mad Cow, that neurological disease (can't remember the name now) that I talked about, which isn't just in Idaho that they feel is possibly linked to Mad Cow and now the NAIS.

The government keeps quiet what it wants to in order to keep control of the people.
