Dana, I remember a similar case I had years ago. The ped said to just ignore the baby's screams because he was manipulating her, but the mother insisted he was in pain.  She eventually took him to an environmental allergist, who discovered that the poor baby had developed an overgrowth of yeast as a reaction to the ABX he had been given for a respiratory infection, and this was being aggravated by the starchy and sugary foods he was being fed. The baby was 13 months old when this happened, and the mother had just weaned him under pressure from her husband who thought he was too old to continue nursing. The allergist believed that the baby's symptoms had been kept under control by nursing and urged her to start again, but that was not to be.

Can anyone send me a quick link to explain the benefits of CST for a baby who is unhappy, feeding frequently, having explosive stools and with a history of mom having penicillin during labor? BW 8lbs 12 oz 3 weeks ago. Today 9 lbs. She was referred to me for oversupply but I'm thinking not. Thank you, Dana

The only reference I have specific to colic is this:

Sheader, WE. "Chiropractic Management of an Infant Experiencing Breastfeeding Difficulties and Colic". Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics, v. 4, #1, 1999. pp. 245-7.
