Guest guest Posted May 19, 2006 Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 Dionysus Theatre will perform its award-winning show, " A Tapestry of American Voices, " at the Children's Museum on the following dates: Saturday, May 20 at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21 at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3 at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at 4 p.m. The performances are free with admission to the museum. This is the show that Dionysus took to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D. C. in 2004 to commemorate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, signed into law by President H. W. Bush. The performance includes songs and vignettes about inclusion, diversity, tolerance and acceptance, themes of all Dionysus shows and activities. The cast includes both able-bodied actors and those with disabilities. Several of the cast members were among those who perfomed at the Kennedy Center. Dionysus Theatre is a 501 C 3, non-profit, non-religious organization bringing the theater experience to actors of all abilities. The performances at the Children's Museum are being funded through a Touring and Neighborhood Arts Program grant from the Cultural Arts Council of Houston/ County. While the performances are being held at the Children's Museum, the show is for audiences of all ages. The performances are free, and included in the price of admission to the museum.
