I think most of us on this list take an antibiotic as a pre-caution before teeth

cleaning. It's because a lot of germs or bacteria get " stirred up " from the

cleaning. It's to prevent any infection. I forgot about it a couple of weeks

ago and my hygenist sent me home.

Hi Toni: To answer your question, the meds do not work the same for

everyone. We were told my daughter Jodi age 28 had AIH Feb. 2000. She was

put on the transplant list Dec. 2000 and we had the living donor transplant

May 18, 2001. She was taking about 22 pills a day but her liver numbers were

not getting better. We almost lost her from an infection just a few months

before the transplant. That's what made the doctors get on the ball and

start the testing to see if I could be the donor.

Thank God I was a match and healthy enough to give her 60% of my liver. She

also got healthy enough for the living donor transplant to be possible.

There is a point where this type of transplant is not done.

When are you due and how are you feeling? Please take care of yourself by

eating right. Very little red meat and salt, drink plenty of water and eat

lots of veggies.

Good luck and God bless, Genny

Genny:

I'm doing very well, thank you. I actually just got the results from my ob/gyn

of my liver function tests as well as all those other " baby " tests. Everything

came back normal! I have been off the Pred (20mg) since July 16. He found I

was borderline anemic (sp) so I'm taking some iron supplements but other than

that everything is fine. We've already had one ultrasound and heard the

heartbeat on two different occasions!

I've noticed I've had some fatigue (altho I think lots of pregnant women do) but

other than that I've been feeling great--no upper quadrant pain.

I'm glad everything is fine with you and your daughter! You both are in my

prayers.

Hi Toni: I'm very glad everything seems to be going OK. By the way in the

future if you are writing to me would you please put re: Genny. Since I'm

working full time there is no way I can read all post in the group so I have

to mostly read the ones that are directed to me. Thanks a lot and keep up

the good work.

Thank you so much for the prayers.

God Bless, Genny

That's awful that you've had to stop the meds, hope you get some Pred or

steroids to help!
