can someone who has genotupe 1 live long ?

my mom has been diagnoised with hepatitas c genotype 1. we dont know how she

got it . we know that she had a blood transfusion three years ago and she did

not have it before then. i love my mom very much and i am afriad she will die. i

have hep c but geno type 2a. i got it from my exboyfriend who was a hemophliac.

the doctor said geno type 1 is harder to treat and is done so 40 percent of the

time. what happens to people if it is not treated? will my mom die sooner

because of her geno type being 1? can someon tell me about some treatments that

work for genotype 1. please i am very worried. could she have got it from me?
