Hiya Elaine

They sound like good `resolutions' to me too, because yes, we often set ourselves up for failure by making promises and resolutions that we know we cant follow up on. So making nice little changes that have better benefits in the long term are a good option.

Sorry to hear your job is not so secure, that must be really worrying. I hope that gets sorted for you soon. Nothing worse! I am sure you would be able to find something in another location that might even be closer to home etc. if it came to that.

I guess we all do what we must Elaine. We wouldn't have come this far

if it wasn't the only option that works for us. Too many wasted years

for me, procrastinating. Now it's action, not enough years left to hum

and har. Good luck, I hope your band will kick in for you. Maree

Thanks so much Barbara - it really made me believe in myself again!Good on you Elaine, congratulations and nice to see that times are changing. For any of you that remember the old CES, I was one of the horror stories from those times, where the person interviewing me told me that I would never get a job as I didn't have a youthful figure.  This was 20 years ago and my weight was around 150kg. Thankfully I proved her wrong and went out and get a temp job with CSIRO, I worked hard, maybe harder than most to prove I was a worthy employee.  They saw past my weight and after applying for a permanent position what become available I was made permanent...............worked there for 11 years until I was poached from there to another position for someone else and have been there 9 years.  Thankfully times are changing..................and so am I Again Elaine, congratulations and well done. Best wishes, Barbara  Re: ElaineElaine - there are some people out there that don't see the packaging and value the skill the person brings to the company.  I know that there are instances where disability can make doing a job impossible, but on the whole we can work just as well as an able bodied employee.  I felt the same when I was employed at my current job.  I went thru and agency and I know that the other candidate they sent was younger, prettier and slim.  I remember at the time feeling like I was the decoy sent in to make sure celery stick got the job - but no.  I ended up there and I am so happy, especially with all the 'covert' support they have given me on my banding journey. I am really pleased that you have found something that you feel so happy about.  Good on you, its really fantastic news.
