I'm Baaaack!!! (A Long Read)

Greetings Everyone,

Thank you so much for all of your prayers, good wishes and love for my " total

hysterical " ectomy last Thursday. (Yes, I'm still Humorous Vic'Torious B-2-B ,

lol!!) We are grateful to God that no cancer was found and for the skill and

compassion of both the surgeons and nurses at Holy Name Hospital. Robotic

surgery is truly amazing and I am the very fortunate recipient of less pain and

a much quicker recovery because of this technology, despite the several hours

under anesthesia. I was able to stop pain medicine for my incisions as of this

morning, where I've been " free to move about the cabin " , pausing for breaks as

needed. The 5 little incisions are still sore of course, but I am still amazed

how one can feel pretty well after only 4 days.

My 48 hour stay was uneventful (which is a good thing.....something that Jim and

I are hoping to see more of in the future), with the exception of Friday night

into Saturday morning.

A distressed female patient down the hall was " channeling " Jerry , the

comedian, (remember the voice he used in those old comedy movies with Dean

?) around 3am in between my roommate's snoring (in perfect rhythm). It

went something like this:

Patient: " Get Me Out of Here! "

Roommate: Snoring sound like an avalanche

Patient: " GET ME OUT OF HERE!! "

Roommate: Snoring sound like a wood chipper

Patient: " GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!! "

Roommate:Snoring sound like an avalanche again

Patient: " I Want My Mommy "

Roommate: Snoring sound undefinable and VERY LOUD

And so on...............

Not quite as good as the auditory version of course, but you get the idea.

While someone's misfortune is certainly no laughing matter, God knew I needed a

lifeline at that very moment, as I was in a lot of pain (the morphine had been

discontinued and the new pain medicine had not been administered yet - that's

another story for a different time) and I received that laughter at the perfect

time. (This scene went on for quite a while, but eventually I drifted back to

sleep). I started cracking up all over again last night when I saw the real

Jerry host his annual Muscular Dystrophy Marathon (Jerry: " I need

donations " Entertaining Guests: " Make contributions " , and so on.) BTW, the pain

medicine did follow and all was well.
