A Dream Not Denied

`Just a Normal Girl'

By LESLIE KAUFMAN

CJ Gunther for The New York Times

CREATIVE EXPRESSION Apostolides discusses her artwork with

Prof. Murphey at Becker College in Massachusetts. She takes

regular courses but will probably not get a degree.

Apostolides is in her third year of college. She's not just a

pioneer, she's an avatar of all the potential and limits of students

with Down syndrome.

Slide Show: In College With Down Syndrome
