Guest guest
Based on your progress over the last few months, you may well fully recover. I can't say for sure because there seem to be some variables that we don't understand. But yes, I think you have a good chance. Guest guest
" Lots of amazon reviews are from people who followed hormone advice from some book and then had side effects. " really ? I didnt get to read all of them, I guess bioidentical treatment has its drawbacks. The pharmacy I visited is a coumpounding pharmacy, I am going to see a pharmacist there, where I think he uses saliva hormone tests, to evaluate. we'll see. Ive read only small parts of couple books about hormone treatment at barnes n nobles and of course part about men but It interesting they mention doctors misprescribe antidepressant for hormonal problem for women and men. One of the case in the book, this guys was able to get off antidperessant prozac after testosterone and diet n exercise plan and this guy was in his 50s I think while he got all of his functions back. Guest guest
I'd be interested in knowing specifically what prozac does to the body and whether full recovery is possible. I had the same issue of not having as much intensity after getting off of prozac as I had before I was on prozac. Prozac flattened me in every way, all my ups and downs were gone and I hated it. It totally killed my sex drive. My sex drive is better now, but the intensity never did come back. I was on prozac in the early 90's, I think. I recently completely weaned myself off of Lexapro completely. That's going okay so far. I used the method described by The Road Back (http://theroadback.org). Now I'm working on losing all the weight I gained while being on Lexapro. the Dreamer > I have seen so far that this group is composed of mainly men, but I > thought I might have something to add here. Guest guest
You know this is so interestin, because I have been pondering in my mind so much recently about how hormones affect a person SO much. Its like the essential esscence that makes everything about us tick. My fianace recently had to get off all birth control because the synthetic hormones would just make her so wacky. It was so unbearable. Now that she is off them, things have turned a 360 degree. She acts so different. Now our lives run so smooth and she laughs and smiles. Well I have been thinking and I wouldnt be surprised that somehow treatment dealing with hormones with us (those affected with pssd) could possibly help cure us. What do you guys think? ANy input? --- zoloftscrwd4life wrote: > Ive been doing some book searches about hormones on > Amazon.com, and I > came across many books with good reviews about > natural hormones and > bioidentical hormone therapy mostly for women. Guest guest
Wow, that *is* interesting. Most people I've known have had Prozac flatten them, this is the first I've heard of it giving someone a continual high and extra abilities. You also said in your other email that you were put on the SSRI to help handle grief and loss, I think that's what also happened to my boyfriend two or three years ago, and now he's hooked on all the psych meds he is on and I am not sure whether I could get him to try using the method I used to wean myself off of Lexapro. He's very stubborn and I'm still working on finding creative ways to suggest things for him to try that I think will benefit him. (I'm open to tips from the guys here.) (And it's not like I'm trying to fix him or make him be something he's not, it's things like wearing a seatbelt, seeing a chiropractor for chronic back pain, getting his eyes checked after 5 years of not getting them checked and getting new glasses so he can see, stuff like that.) Personally I don't think my boyfriend needs the psych meds. I think he just needed help in learning to deal with his painful emotions and then he would have been fine. Now he has very few emotions and hardly any sex drive at all. However, at bedtime shortly after he takes his night time meds, he seems very aroused, attempts to be sexual with me (in his drugged up state) in ways that aren't always pleasant (one time it was blissful though), then awakes in the morning with absolutely no memory of what happened. When I tried to talk to him about what we did last night after the first time, he thought I was joking. He was upset when he learned that he didn't get to experience the one time that was blissful. Once I realized that he was just being sexual in a drugged up state, I started turning him down when he would try to be sexual with me after he's had his bedtime meds because then it felt like I was taking advantage of him. I've been telling him about his attempts the following morning and he has no memory of his attempts or of my turndowns. He's always very surprised to learn of the experiences. He rarely tries to be sexual with me otherwise. He told me he had a very strong sex drive before the meds. He's decreasing the Effexor and increasing the Wellbutrin and keeps teasing me about how wild he will be once he gets the meds changed to the point that his sex drive will be back. I'm looking forward to that. The waiting is hard because it's a challenge to keep from feeling undesireable. But I am being patient. the Dreamer > , > > I don't really know what Prozac does specifically. What was > interesting with me is that while I was on it, I didn't have any lows > at all. Guest guest
What is the bedtime medication. This is very interesting and in someways similar. I had many episode like that with my wife, when I took Ambient. I had vague recollection, and did not rememeber much. Aparantely the sex was good to the point I could no longer continue and fell sleep. I am not taking Ambient any more, and when I do, I go straight to bed, before my wife gets to bed. Don't want to worry about sleeping pills effect of sex and mood. -Steve Wow, that *is* interesting. Guest guest
Ambien is one of the meds he takes at bedtime. He also raids the fridge about 30 minutes after taking Ambien and does not remember eating the food he finds the empty wrappers for in the morning. I don't know which other meds he takes at bedtime, I know he's on Effexor and welbutrin plus another psych med and several other meds for other conditions he has. the Dreamer > What is the bedtime medication. Guest guest
Hypnosis can help. It requires a competant hypnotist trained specifically in " how " to work with it. When I work with Hypnosis clients for ED, I find that the low libido that occurred because of the meds became tied to getting over the depression/sleep issues/anxiety/ fear/worry/ etc. theat the meds were used for. When the meds stopped, the low libido turned out to be a learned response to NOT having the other stuff. In my professional opinion as a hypnotist (I am not a doctor) and based on what I've seen and accomplished with non-organic ED clients (plumbing is intact) and my sources of instruction on technique - who reported 99%+ success rate on thousands of similar type clients (compared to my 23/24 for ED overall - My only failure was client that had a prostatectomy. The hypnosis did not work with him because he had an " organic " cause to his ED. During the prostatectomy (malignant; size of an orange when removed), several critical nerves were cut.), non-organic ED is easily corrected. By easy, it may take 5 minutes in my hypnosis chair or it may take several sessions. Some clients have a few more things related to the ED than others. The most session time any of my clients took after " starting on the ED 3 hours (two sessions; Client had a total of 6 sessions; the ED work started in the 4TH session because that issue came up as part of the stroke recovery). The man was 77 (he is 78 now). He was on heavy meds for depression and coumadin and other meds to treat him for his stroke from 2001 (his left side was 90% paralyzed). His report was that he had not had an orgasm in over 20 years. I was initially working with him to relieve stress and issues related to his constant crying from several traumatic war experiences and relieve the stress to help him get more recovery from the stroke. The ED help/request came up as part of his stroke recovery. I worked with the stress and issues related to that and tied it to when he could make a fist (with left hand; he had not been able make a fist with his left hand since the stroke; left hand HAD been 100% paralyzed) that would signal that he was recovering and his wife would assist him when he played my " Wet Dream: Movie Star " CD for assistance with arousal. Less than a week after that 5th session (second for ED; other stuff covered also), I received a report that he had an erection and orgasm. There are very few barriers to success, but they can be addressed in session. Can I guarantee that it will work for everybody in one session? No because once you leave the office, I have no influence on the other factors in life situations. I do make allowances for them but sometimes followup is still necessary. Guest guest
I'm sure here is on the level. But my sexual dysfunction occurs with or without stress, and I've tried hypnosis. Guest guest
I too have tried hypnosis to try and fix the mess that was caused by psychiatric medication. Unfortunately, it did nothing for me. jwarrent1 wrote: I'm sure here is on the level. But my sexual dysfunction occurs with or without stress, and I've tried hypnosis. Guest guest
Read your statement again: " ...my sexual dysfunction... " There's a clue there. You are so proud of it you claim it like you own it. You must be ready to give up ownership for anything to work. How do you know you weren't hypnotized? Either YOU did the guidance or not. You made that choice. It is the client's failure when they don't do the guidance. It is the hypnotist's failure, if the hypnotist doesn't recognize the progress and modify and try different techniques until he gets the goal results. 98% of medical and psychology hypnotists fall in this category of poor technique in my experience. I am the type of hypnotist that the Psychiatrists and Psychologists have attempted to monopolize out of business because Fast results eliminate their annuity payments (cost them A LOT of $$$$$). e.g. Is it in the doctor's or medical industry interest for a cancer patient sent home to hospice care to be comfortable and pain free? or, to go spontaneously into remission and not require$70,000 worth of chemo therapy. That's the extreme end but you get the point. I build my practice with fast results because since I am not a doctor, I do not receive insurance payments. My clients need fast conclusive results not a long drawn out management process. ********** Natural recovery is Easy when you are willing to take the steps and experience the corrective actions necessary to achieve it. It can be done without going through any traumatic experiences. That is what I do and that is what the CD does. I find a lot of people prefer to wallow in their problems and deny they can be helped rather than try something to get there. Its just like many people having a heart attack will deny it until they are dead. If you don't believe that, ask the Heart Association or Red Cross. Take a CPR class. The CD is WAYYY more than just stress relief. It includes management for anger, fears, worries, guilt, procrastination, sadness, grief, anxiousness, and much more. The project title - " Panacea " - has proven very appropriate. I have been testing and " strengthening it for over 4 years. I just fully released it 2 months ago. I have had several people (whose doctor told them they would be on Effexor for life) who listened. Their doctors eventually weaned them off all depression meds. I had similar reports from some bipolar listeners (no comments on the meds, just that they were much better). Others have remarked how their migraines became extremely rare. Did the CD do it? I don't know but I have over 200 reports of similar " coincidences " of problems improving or disappearing " naturally. " The hypnotist opens the door you still have to go through it. They can't " make " you do it. **************** For your hypnosis, What type of induction (relaxation, long drawn out, quick/ 5 sec, 1 min, 5 min, 20 min, etc)? How did they try to correct it? (script, talk it out, regression, etc)? The hypnotist is just the guide. If he/she doesn't know what to look for and how to look for it EFFECTIVELY it will not work. If they suggest it will take more than 1 or 2 sessions, they haven't been properly trained for correcting ED or hypnosis for that matter -- IMHO. *************** I made an offer several months ago (last year?) for volunteers. It still stands for several volunteers. Email me offlist to make arrangements. If you can make Columbia, SC, that option is available. If you can only work on phone, we can test that too. Limit 5 people for office and phone total. I know how the CD's work so they are not up for test. They are not specific to ED but I have had a few specific reports. If you have a specific challenge for the CD, email me offlist and I'll see what I can do. Any takers? The Catch? I expect anyone who participates to report good or bad for the benefit of the community. Deadline to sign up for participation is Oct 31, 2006. I walk my talk.
