Guest guest
Well, we survived the dentist! I swear I'm a walking testimony to social stories and Writing With Symbols. The last few appt's we've had, I've written social stories to help prepare him and get him through the appt. ENT was a success, Blood draw was a success, and now the Dentist was a success. Now, by no means is he leaping into the chair opening wide! He's very nervous when we get into any exam room or lab. This Dentist specializes in kids with special needs, he was WONDERFUL with . He let him stay in his stroller and just worked with to get a look around his mouth. He told me 's 6 year molars have come in on top and that the bottom ones are coming in. Maybe a reason for the increase in grinding??? He was able to spread some foamy fluoride on 's teeth - impressive. He brushed them with his gloved finger and used gauze to wipe them off. It worked - so who am I to question technique. He told me that he expects, in the next 6 months, to see getting some loose teeth. He wants to see him back in August and then next spring he wants to go into the O.R. and paint sealants on his molars, take X-Rays and he talked about possibly pulling teeth if they're loose and the new ones are coming up. We'll cross that bridge next spring. All I know, is I made it out alive - was a champ! Carol, I'm so thankful to you for showing me the way to WWS! You've made my life so much easier!!! Score one for the Jack-Jack man! Jayne Now our next appt will be Pediatric GI on Friday. We've never been so I'm not sure what to expect and how to prepare , anyone???? Thanks! --------------------------------- Yahoo! Mail Bring photos to life! New PhotoMail makes sharing a breeze.
Guest guest
Jayne one more great adventure you have conquered, Bravo, Oh I am dreading the dentist.Theres no way Mic will get thru that without meds I dont believe. Mic was dxed PTSS post tramatic syndrome after his hospitalizations and I dont think he will get thru it without serious regression without meds but you give me hope. Great job Jayne I almost feel like I am following your lead. Laurie
Guest guest
So glad to hear MiniMo showed up and had a successful dentist visit. I am lucky when it comes to Drs. for Tori. She loves them. The only thing she doesn't like is the Oxygen monitor they clip on the finger to register your oxygen level. Guest guest
Wow, Liz, you are lucky she likes the Doctor. How funny that the Pulse Ox machine is what sends her over the edge. Has she seen ET? I like to refer to that finger clip with the red glow, like the ET phone home bit! Take care, Jayne Liz D wrote: So glad to hear MiniMo showed up and had a successful dentist visit. Guest guest
Greyson's the same way with the Pulse Ox. Isn't that funny? I was thinking of ET, too but he still hasn't bought it yet. I'll keep trying. Hopefully we won't need to be using one too often! It never ceases to surprise me what Greyson will focus on next --- and usually it's what I'm least suspecting. Guest guest
Tori has an obsession with band-aids. She needs at least one a day. Last week she complained her throat hurt (she is such a phony) so I suggested to the aide that if she kept complaining, just take her to the nurse and have her put a band-aid on her neck. Well, it worked! Liz Dentist was a success! >> >> >> > Well, we survived the dentist! >> > I swear I'm a walking testimony to social stories and Writing With >> > Symbols.
