Guest guest
Well, our weekend was a bust. We spent Sat evening thru Sun afternoon in the hospital. Our youngest, age 7 with Down Syndrome, broke both of the bones in his lower right leg. The good news is that the crisis is over and it looks like all we need now is time ---- and new routines. That's where I need ya'll's help. Now that we're home and ready to work on our new routines --- ones that includes a wheelchair, diapers, bedbaths, shampoos, restricted activity, --- and a hurting little one with a cognitive development of 5; and a speech level of a 2-3 yr old. And then, I don't want to attract more unnecessary clutter like toys --- which is easy to do at a time like this. Would ya'll please email me (and privately is fine with me) with some ideas, solutions, natural healing, re-scheduling, entertainment ---- ANYTHING that might help us during these next few weeks. (Maybe as long as 10 weeks!) I'm sure some of you have encountered similar situations with your young ones. How did ya'll manage and what worked for ya'll? Right now, my first immediate concern is constipation with all of the anesthesia and meds he's on. I'm sure I'll have other issues as the weeks progress and I'm at a loss here. Oh well --- another journey begins. The good side of this is that he has 6 siblings at home to help him (and mom) so I have a good resource pool to draw from. We're all pulling together during this time --- the biggest blessing we have and the most important during these seasons of life. Thanks in advance ya'll -- all help/ideas will be greatly appreciated! Diane
