Guest guest
I'm excited to be offering once again the heart and soul of my healing story practice -- the hero's journey. Tuesdays, October 5 - November 16 7-9 p.m. my office The ancient hero's journey myth that tells of disaster, victorious quest, and wise return can be found in every great story transformational experience, and meaningful life. A metaphorical roadmap for the universal struggle to navigate and grow through crisis, this myth is entirely applicable to our modern lives and shows us how to transform personal or collective misfortune into deep and necessary change. For the last 15 years, I've shared this redemptive and creative way of responding to crisis with clients coping with incarceration, homelessness, primary and secondary trauma, depression, life-threatening illness, devastating loss, life transition, and deep yearning for change. It never fails to be a source of resilience. supportive connection, and transformation. I welcome the opportunity to introduce this practical, wise, and optimistic healing paradigm with my colleagues on this listserv. A detailed description of the course and comments from past participants can be found on my blog, http://livingstory-ny.blogspot.com. I'll also be sharing an overview of the hero's journey at the Expressive Therapies Summit - Times Square (Nov. 12-15) in my workshop, " Crisis, Resilience, and the Story Imagination " on Nov. 14, 2:30-5:30. (http://summit.expressivemedia.org) Please forward this post to anyone whom you feel could benefit from this course in transformational story. -- t Bruce, Ph.D.Writer - Expressive Arts Counseling - Story Coach Are you a therapist, healer, or expressive arts practitioner who loves learning the latest information on trends and research in the creative arts therapies?
