Paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, prints, mixed and new media. Requirements: Size of work, including frame, must not exceed 12†in any direction. Work must be ready to hang. Sculpture must be provided with shelf and anchoring for secure wall mounting. Artists supply all equipment for display of electronic media, not to exceed 12 " Juried by Calabrese and Bills, Directors at Gering & Gallery in New York. Calabrese, with a BFA from Pratt Institute, is the Founder and co-Director of Editions Fawbush. He is curating a group exhibition at Gering & López Gallery for November/December 2010 of works by artists recently published by Fawbush. Calabrese has published editions with Kiki , Karin Davie, Tuttle, Sol Lewitt and Jack Pierson and other artists. Editions Fawbush projects are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the New York Public Library, the Museum of Contemporary Art, other institutions and private collections. Bills holds a BA from Pomona College and writes about contemporary art. Her distinctive critical analysis has been published and quoted in Voices of Tomorrow and the Jersey Journal among other publications. Ms. Bills serves as the Secretary on the Board of Directors of Friends of E.1027, a nonprofit devoted to the restoration of Eileen Grayʼs villa in Southern France. She is curating a group exhibition at Gering & López next summer with Al Moran of OHWOW, Miami. Fees:The entry fee of $30 will cover the submission of up to three (3) works of art. If more than three works are submitted, only the first three will be considered. Checks and money orders should be made payable to “440 Gallery†and mailed to: 440 Gallery 440 Sixth Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11215 Submissions: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Work may be submitted via e-mail to smallworkshow@... or on a CD mailed through the US POSTAL, NO FEDEX or UPS. Do not use mailing that requires a signature. Follow specifications below. Digital specifications: Each JPEG image no larger than 7 inches (504x504 pixels)72 dpi resolution and rgb color mode (no cmyk). Label each image with your name and a number corresponding to a title list (For example: Picasso_1.jpg). The title list should include: #1 Artist's name Title Medium Size, including frame: HxWxD in inches Price #2 etc. Accepted Work: Artists will be notified of acceptance by November 17. All work must be dropped off no later than Sunday, November 28, 2010. Late arriving work cannot be hung. Actual work that differs dramatically from the submitted image may be disqualified. Selected work that is shipped must arrive in a reusable container, ready to hang with a prepaid return mailing label. Prizes: 440 Award, Curator’s Choice Award, and People’s Choice Award Sales: All works are for sale unless otherwise stated. 440 Gallery will charge a 20% comission on sales. Liability: All possible care will be taken to ensure the safety of work but we cannot bear liability for the loss or damage of any artwork. Insurance is the responsibility of each artist. Removal of Art: Work not picked up between Saturday, January 8, and Sunday January 9, 2011, will be stored at a fee of $5 a day. Questions?
