I had acute pancreatitis..due to my elevated liver enzymes..part of my A1AD. I had a molar pregnancy..bad teeth..and a host of other issues ..(which we've discussed on our lung list w/A1AD) and wondered too if some of these things could be health related.. One the 1st visit I mentioned IBS and he said "aw yes" ????? didn't think of anything at the time. There's a med I was given .. it's a very little ( pretty blue ) capsule. It's an anti- spasm med..and LORD it was my BEST FRIEND! All those years I suffered with that horiffic, griping pain! At the first twinge of pain, I'd take that pretty little blue capsule and my stomach spasms didn't grow .. I can't quite remember the name of this pill but it's something like doxcy(something) there's also an anti that begins w/doxcy..but the anti spasm med is dif (of course) Ask your dr about it. I was told by my dr this med is perfectly ' safe '..no side effects whatsoever..my stomach spasms ..for the most part, are much less, so I don't need the med like I used to..but ask your Dr about it..I'm telling you it's instant RELIEF!!! I have learnt what foods not to eat and nerves plan a big part too. I'd love to stop taking them but you know....... all seems to be working fine why fool with something that is working right? :-) Deb From: bronchiectasis [mailto:bronchiectasis ] On Behalf Of Sunniesback55@...Sent: Monday, January 01, 2007 12:13 AMTo: bronchiectasis Subject: Re: IBS mmmm that is interesting. Guest guest
hi I cannot eat fats, rich coffees , garlic , to much sugar..... salads , I really miss my salads. If I say want to pig out on pizza and garlic bread ,I have it Friday nite,,, that way I deal with the next day at home. :-) Fattys foods are the worst for me. I love Starbucks latte... so I get it and drink it at work. That way I don't have that feeling whislt I'm driving. Thought I'm a Pepsi addict and it doesn't seem to bother me. Sandie Sandie, Is the medication Dicyclomine (generic) or Bentyl (brand name)? My gastroenterologist prescribed it for me, but I have never taken it. Guest guest
Your welcome. I have not had any problems with IBS since I had an air contrast barium enema test done a few weeks ago. My gastroenterologist would not do a colonoscopy due to my bronchiectasis and six foot long difficult colon.
