This is a little story our local paper printed this week...I think it's cute enough to share. Sher

This is a true story folks and gives us a good chuckle about reveille in Canby.

One dark October morning, a woman living by Knight School awakened at AM to the bugling of roosters. Not having roosters, she and her surrounding neighbors were startled and annoyed to say the least. Each morning the crowing continued and calls flooded the local Police Department and Clackamas County Animal Control to no avail.

, living in an apartment complex close by, had all the AM mornings he wanted. Walking to the location of the bugling roosters he made a request the woman please do something about the early morning crowing. She replied, “I don’t know what to do, my neighbors are all mad at me and I’ve called every place I know. These roosters were dumped in my yard one night and I don’t know how to get rid of them.”

, smiling, suggested she could have chicken dinner but that did not appeal to the woman, so he went back home and talked to a couple of his neighbors who were cranky about the early morning risings as well.

The two young men immediately walked to the woman’s home and offered to get rid of the roosters for her. She was delighted! According to her, there were four roosters and one flew away. The young men brought in small pet carriers, chased, and caught the roosters.

The two guys sold the roosters for $5.00 each to a local farmer and then went out and enjoyed a chicken dinner.

Ahhhhh, finally, sleep again. All were satisfied. The next morning the missing bugle-boy sounded off. The crowing now came from a house on the opposite side of the schoolyard and the neighbors were profusely complaining again.

The local police now responded due to the over heated complaints of neighbors in a radius of many blocks and the chase was on. Officers chased the screeching bugle-boy around the yard with one officer threatening to Tase him! Finally catching him, the officers left with bugle-boy in the borrowed pet carrier, the phone number of the local farmer in-hand and the case of Canby reveille solved.
