But, it started to have an effect on my breathing at that dosage (which was the only dose that began to help the spasms.) Because it was depressing my breathing, I was tapered off and breathing returned to normal around 60 mgs., but that dose didn't do anything for me. > > I am going to be pretty much begging/demanding for a pain pump at my next appt with the pain clinic. I'm convinced at this point that if I could have a steady dosage of medication that I would be much better off, plus, no matter the med, once on it for period of time I either become allergic to it (which happens almost all the time), or the dosage doesn't help after a while due to increasing pain due to falls, etc., or I have such side-effects that it's not worth taking the med. > > You may remember I had a spinal cord stim placed, but had to have to it removed from migration of the wires, and then after that was fixed, it was found the reason they were migrating was due to my body rejecting every piece of equipment (the battery pack was coming through my skin and was almost breaking it down by the time they removed it.) However, my new pain doctor said there is a new material available that is almost guarenteed to not react with the body so I'm really hoping he can get his hands on this and that I will be a candidate. > > I'm so glad to hear that accupuncture is working for you. I tried this twice, the first time the doctor was a quack and didn't know what he was doing and the sessions made me feel worse, even days later. The second time I wasn't in the right space for it and stopped before it could have been beneficial. Just to clarify, the statement about acupuncture was a testimonial from a patient at the website I listed, it was NOT me :-) I am surprised they would even let you take 120 mg Baclofen, I am 6-1 200# and 80 mg is the max they would let me take orally. Then at 8- mg I was totally unable to do school work so thats when we did the pump trial and it worked.
