Guest guest
> she said, oh so your and addict. I get so mad when a-holes say stuff like that, and they expect to US to treat THEM like medical PROFESSIONALS? If anyone ever comes up with a good response for idiot medical workers who say things like " so you're an addict " I'd sure hope they post it for the rest of us (I'd LIKE to say " yes I'm an addict, and I have <insert diagnoses>... but nurse, what's you reason for being an a-hole? " I usually bite my tongue, fearing that if I anger them they will retaliate in some way. Makes me soooo glad I have a good primary doc who manages my pain. BUT my primary doc reminds me that he gets hit up two and three times a DAY by drug seekers. I guess they all get hit up pretty often, make them very cynical when they encounter a bonafide case... too bad, genuine pain patients suffer becsue of the myriad of drug seekers. Guest guest
I think Kaylene gave you some excellent information on how to handle this. I do not talk this way, but I am assuming by the content of the letter that you are very mad. I would say you have every right to be! And then even more right to be! I would ask for a meeting, I would tell them I want my records to be viewed at that time, I would also take with me a letter signed by your doctor stating you are under his care and with what prescribed meds and for what reasons. I hope you have this nurses name. Remember you are not a addict only someone with chronic pain. If we who have this do not stand up and tell the medical profession it will never change how it perceives us. We have to have the medicine. There are some days it might actually be good to be addicted because then perhaps we would not be in so much pain but alas we are. I wish there was a way that we could just for a few minutes give the person who feels that was our pain. Bet they would never say that again! Fight your fight, please remember you are not just fighting for you, but for all of us. Gwen
