Guest guest
I have seen in one of the star hotel, where they kept one shoe cleaner / polisher. In that without removing our shoes i.e in standing position, we have to introduce our shoes one by one. Due to automatic rotational movement of the bristles, the shoe gets cleaned poished in dry method. Hope this will be suitable. In our plant, before entering the control room, people those who has to enter inside the control room must remove their shoes outside and they can enter with only socks or with seperate chappels. When came outside as usual they replace with their shoes. Guest guest
Dear All I do agree with Mr.Sridhar. But, this arrangement is only for Shoe Polishing. Is there any such arrangement, like a Conveyor belt or so, sothat the bottom portions also get cleaned???? Thanks R.KUMAR Safety Sundaram-Clayton Limited, Plant-2 Ambattur
Guest guest
Dear Sirs, Again Disposal of shoe covers creates environmental problem as like disposable cups and carry bags. Hence it is suggested to use cloth type shoe covers (like gloves material) with Zip arragements. If possible these cloth covers can be washed or disposed, which will not create any environmental problem. Also the shoe cleaner / polisher in star hotels are kept in toilets to remove off water particles in case if shoes become wet. I think, both of them will not be appropriate to minimize dust ingress. But, in most of the bulk pharmaceutical companies, in packing areas especially, disposable shoe covers over the footwear are being used, which can be kept always outside the room, so before entering inside the room, the employee can wear the shoe cover over and it can be disposed off when he leave outside the room. This may be less expensive and most efficient method. Guest guest
Dear All, We have done some improvements in this regard. We have paint shop and 90 members working in two shifts. earlier we tried over shoes, but it failed due to uncontrollable human factor and unfavorable practices at user level. The path they follow made dust free from bus to shop entrance. One kaizen implemented for cleaning shoes sole. A round brush @8" dia mounted on shaft driven by electric motor, presence of shoes sensed by proximity switches (similar as that of shoes polishing machine) continuous awareness is ensured by shop supervisors and group leaders. In our standard room we have provided canvas shoes to change before entring the room. rk.kumar@... wrote: Dear All I do agree with Mr.Sridhar. But, this arrangement is only for Shoe Polishing. Guest guest
I agree with Mr. Sridhar, I have seen this arrangement in Taj Tristar hotel at Hyderabad yesterday. This instrument was kept near lift, not near toilet where it will become wet as mentioned by one our friend. regards, S.
