Question about the new videos

Is Reber in them? I thought about this last night in bed. I

wouldn't imagine that she would be, but maybe she has seperated herself from

her father's business dealings.

I would bet she isn't. She probably couldn't (and wouldn't)

extricate herself from her Dad's business practices. After all she

opened up the Taebo Studio in Ohio only because of her involvement

with Taebo directly due to her father.

She's always been in Ohio. She would travel out here for the tapings. She

use to travel all over the country and world with Shellie and . Her kids

are home schooled and her husband, if I remember correctly, works for NCP.

I'm sure they paid for her travels and hotels.

arrive.....LOL. Got an email saying they shipped on the 6th, but

haven't gotten them yet, maybe today Anyway, I would feel pretty

confident in saying that Reber is not in these videos and

will probably never again be in anything associated with 's

videos (the ones that he is doing now with Good Times). I think he

has pretty much broken all ties with NCP and thus, . I don't

even think the instructors who teach at her studio have gone through

recertification camp (I'm just guessing this...I don't know this for

a fact). So, technically the studio is not legitimate. If you

workout at that Center and enjoy it, I apologize for being negative.

But, if you ask those instructors if they have ever attended a Tae Bo

Certification Camp in California with , I'm pretty sure the

answer's going to be no. We have to get recertified every year in

California. I have never seen or heard of Reber (or any of

ther instructors) being at any of the camps! Again, I could be wrong

about this. I'm pretty anti-NCP (or anything that has to do with

them....LOL!)

I'm with you on this one . I don't miss her and frankly don't

find her motivating at all. Taebo is not only about the physical but

the mental as well, right? She has shown her mental conviction to be

lacking IMO. I am not sure that she could not have tried to

extricate herself from the quagmire that her father perpetrated.

Instead she enjoyed the fruits of 's labor and took him for what

she/and her father could. I have no respect for that kind of

behavior.

Sorry to those that find her motivating. Please don't hate me!

Her dad is the one who brought Tae Bo to us, so they " owned " the Tae Bo name.

had to get everything back from them. I don't know all the details,

but I figure that she's still able to use it, because NCP still has rights to

the original workouts and they run the boards.

Me too. I checked the USPS tracking and there was finally information on

there on Thursdays saying it was in Florida?!?!?! I hope to get the 2 believers

today. Then Cardio and Flex are on back order until *maybe* Monday?!?!?! Man

i dont like michelle reber much either.... she keeps bouncing her stretches

I remember one of the QVC appearances, I believe it was a man and a woman,

who both gave testimony and I *believe* both of them said that they taught

there. I think they were saying something like how they were taking classes and

then they started teaching there. I can't remember though, I'll have to look at

the tapes and find it. But I know that they weren't certified, at least at

the time, because there were no certification camps. Unless like you said,

when went out there after it was opened and certified folks. But I can't

remember the exact time frame of the QVC show and when was out there.

Smart me didn't date all the shows, so I'm not sure.

it's just not right! From all that I have seen, they are just out to

make money by using the Tae Bo name and that is DEFINITELY not what

Unfortunately, I think that NCP still has certain rights to the Tae

Bo name and can keep using it (for footage that was already shot). I

never really understood why the Ohio studio could use the Tae Bo

name, but nobody else could. Those of us who got certified in the

very beginning (back in 2000) were told we could not open a studio

using the word Tae Bo in the name of the studio. We could

say 'offering certified Tae Bo Classes' but we couldn't call our

place 's Tae Bo Center. Then, all of a sudden Reber

opens up a studio called the Canton Tae Bo Center. What really made

me mad was that she wasn't even a CERTIFIED instructor when that

Center opened. Neither were any of her instructors. I belive they

might have gotten certified by when he went to visit the Center

after it had opened. But, when they opened Reber was NOT a

certified Instructor. And basically, she auditioned and trained the

instructors who worked for her. Interesting, too that she is the

only one listed in Canton, Ohio as a certified instructor. So, who's

teaching all the classes she offere? Un-certified instructors!

Why could they use the name Tae Bo

in their Center? Because her father runs NCP. Why couldn't anybody

else put the name Tae Bo in their center....because they are greedy

and don't want anyone else to profit (even though we are the ones who

are truly certified by ). GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR........

Okay, done venting..LOL! Sorry, it's just an incredibly frustrating

situation! And what stinks is that most people have absolutely no

idea it's really like that!

Oh, don't even get me started on that one...LOL! For those of you

who don't know....the Canton Center was opening about the same time a

Center in Laurel, MD was opening, which I used to teach at (that

Center has since shut down, unfortunately). Stan is an instructor

who certified at the same time that I did. He was in close contact

with regarding opening a Center. He had 's approval.

was even at our Grand Opening. While they were getting ready

to open, Stan received a letter from NCP stating that we had to cease

and desist with our opening, etc. It ended up being

illegitimate..they were just trying to scare us. But, we were in

contact with 's lawyers and they told us we could go ahead. I

got into an argument on the main boards with someone saying our

Center wasn't a 'legitimate' Center because of things they had been

told at the Canton Center. And all I had to respond was 'Um, whose

Grand Opening did and Shellie attend?'. I certainly didn't see

them at the Canton Center's Opening! That's just the kind of shady,

dishonorable crap that NCP pulls! And don't even get me started on

their shady marketing techniques....promising people 'never before

seen videos' when they are really just recycled tae bo tv workouts!

They are just a dishonest company and I am so glad has

separated from them!

It's a very long story, but basically NCP is the Company that

marketed 's original tapes. has been in a legal battle

with them for years (that I belive he recently resolved) fighting to

get the Tae Bo name back. They of course, didn't want to give him

the Tae Bo name back because they were making so much money off of

it. Back when first signed with NCP he was not at all

known...NCP is responsible for putting the infomercial out there and

marketing the tapes. They did an incredible job marketing his

product and making and Tae Bo household names. But, at the end

of the 5 year agreement, was supposed to get the name back. I

believe that he recently got the Tae Bo name back, but as part of the

agreement I think that NCP still has a right to use the Tae Bo name

or sell products using the Tae Bo name as long as it is footage that

was already shot. NCP has TONS of footage from videos that were shot

for the original infomercial and Tae Bo TV tapings and Live Video

tapings, etc. Anyway, there is a Tae Bo Center in Canton Ohio that

is run by Michele Reber, who is the daughter of the President of

NCP. Michele was in many of the Live videos and in the beginning was

a real inspiration for many people. But, she is not involved with

any longer. Although, she runs a Tae Bo Center....I don't

think that she ever re-certified. Certified Tae Bo Instructors have

to get re-certified every year in order to keep their certification

current!

I don't think they ever actually went to court. I think they settled

out of court. Who knows what was on the contract that

originally signed, you know? I mean, he was a nobody...none of them

had any idea Tae Bo would be this HUGE PHENOMENON that it is...LOL!

So, I wouldn't doubt that he really did give them all the rights to

the Tae Bo name never realizing how deceitful they would be! I'm

sure he has learned A LOT from this whole ordeal! And what doesn't

kill us only makes us stronger, right
