Guest guest
Hi Laurie All the doctors remain non-commital when it comes to giving me a time frame for receiving the transplant. When i was listed with UCLA (after going through evaluation) on 10/31/99, i asked the Tx co-ordinator there and she didn't want to give me a date. I asked her for a " ball park " estimate and she said about a year. Then in December, I asked my Tx co-ordinator at Kaiser and she said I should be looking towards the beginning of 2001. Then in January, 2000, i asked again and my Tx doctor at Kaiser said that he didn't know. And he probably doesn't. I think it depends upon if i get sicker and my LFT's get worse. Right now, my bilirubin is 5.9 and my alk. phos. is 173 (down from 204 last month). So it's a long, frustrating, waiting/guessing game as to when i'll get it. As far as getting a beeper, it will probably be 6 months or more till i get one. UCLA waits till you get close to the top of the list until they give you one. Thank you Laurie, and all of you for keeping me in your prayers. I will survive - I'm totally optimistic. Hugs McGlothlin << McG-- Did they give you any idea how long of a wait you would have? I assume you have a beeper? My prayers are with you Laurie >>
Guest guest
, I spoke with Jacquelyn this evening and she was real surprised that you didn't have a beeper. She was also surprised that they didn't have you hospitalized with the high bili you have. Just what is Dr. Donovan doing about that? Phil takes a higher dose of actigall than you. He takes 1200 mg. I think the yellow stool is bad too. Hey someone with more knowledge is it? Jacquelyn said that when she went into liver failure her stool was white.
