Guest guest
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know Bert and I completed the challenge. The last three weeks were rather lack-luster, not at all what we envisioned, but it is finished! I ended up having surgery the week of week 12. Week 10 was messed up with a fever thing, week 11 with surgery scheduled, then cancelled. We did stick with the program and continue the work out. It has all paid off. The day after the TRAM and Hysterctomy the nurse told me to use my legs to push myself up. Legs? I wondered. Where the heck were my legs. The morphine was really doing a number. Have to say though, those squats really paid off as I was able to lift my body to a " semi " upright position. By Wednesday I was doing laps around the nurses station. (still on morphine-so it was interesting. On Thursday Bert and I did 48 laps around the nurses station. On Friday I was released from the hospital. Saturday we headed home. My boys (Noah, 10 and Lance 7) both ended up with that fever thing I had a few weeks back, so my time at home hasn't been as restful as I had hoped. On the other hand, they only had fevers and so there was very little I had to do but feed them and administer tylenol and motrin at the appropriate times. Dr. has given me permission to get on the treadmill, but I will wait another week to do that. I realize I still may be coming off a " High " of being home. My stomach is healing nicely and hurt like a son of a gun until today. Hardly think about the fact I have a new breast. Kind of funny-since that was the intent of the surgery! I went into surgery at 164 lbs. About 10 lbs shy of what I wanted the scale to say. The drs. were impressed though! My plastic surgeon asked what we did to get so healthy so quickly. We enthusiastically told him about bfl. He said he had to check it out! So I did end up losing 27 lbs of body fat, gained 17 lbs of muscle. Doc said he could tell when I was on the table that my muscles were getting tight and that was good! I still want to lose another 20 pounds of weight, but all in good time. Right now I need to heal, heal, heal. I also need to focus on eating right. It has been somewhat of a feeding frenzy here with people bringing all kinds of goodies to eat. I think I have had *gasp* 6 huge rice krispy bars since Tuesday! Alrightly my friends, look forward to hearing about all you pursuits and what is happing with you all. H.
