Guest guest
I've just joined the group, but I'm not new to BFL. I was successful with the program a couple of years ago, and once I got into the full swing of things, I really enjoyed the exercise part of the program. But, alas, I'm back to where I started, plus a bit, and, well, the new year is a great time to jump back in. I'm a 36 year old mom to 3 kids, going to school to become a math teacher. I've got about 25lbs to loose, and I've discovered that at this age 25lbs is harder to shed than it used to be! So yesterday I did workout on the treadmill, but my diet was less than stellar. I'm on my way downstairs to do a LBWO (I hope I'm able to walk tomorrow) and I'm committed to eating right today. I went shopping yesterday and am more prepared. Anyone else recommit to proper diet and exercise in celebration of the new year? Jenn
Guest guest
Jenn, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I also just joined the group - and my story sounds a little bit like yours. I get in the best shape of my life back in 2004 following the principles of BFL. I must say that my motivation wasn't purely " health " related - I wanted to audition for the lead in a musical in which the character had to take off his shirt (on stage). Fast forward to 2009 - if I were to take off my shirt - people would run away in fear. I have more weight than 25lbs. to shed (total goal is 50) but I have found a much better reason for BFL this time around - health. I have some REALLY bad habits to break (and a lot of weight to lose) but it feels really good to be exercising again. However, I am finding that I forgot how hard it can be to fit 6 meals into my life. The best to you Jenn - stay strong and focused.

I myself am preparing my body for more intense training later on down the road when i put in my package for BUDs. I am pretty stoked to actually really get going with this program. We have been hard at it for 6 days so far, and have followed the program to the letter. I hope everyone has a great new year and ill see you all in the championship! >
Guest guest
Hi, Jenn, Wow, our stories are remarkably similar. I transformed myself a few years ago, then fell off the wagon and transformed myself right back. I've had a lot of fun packing on the extra pounds, and decided I wanted to have fun taking them off, too. So I made an announcement in church that I was going to lose 30 pounds on the BFL program, and invited anybody who wanted to to join me. The response was enthusiastic! We're going to have weekly meetings for fun, support and accountability. I ordered a dozen used BFL books from Amazon, and have assembled 12 notebooks with enough forms to last everybody two weeks. (I remember being quite overwhelmed during my first program, and assembling a notebook was the last thing I wanted to do.) Our first meeting is next Sunday afternoon. I figure the first meeting can just be an overview of the program and a review of the basic principles. I have no idea what subsequent meetings will be like, but I'll figure something out. One thing I plan to emphasize is the importance of a positive mental state. Bill mentions that in the book, but it could easily be a whole course in itself! I started the eating part of the program on January 1, and am already down six pounds (I was a veritable vacuum cleaner over the holidays; I guess those pounds come off pretty fast.) Going to start working out tomorrow. Good luck, Jenn!
Guest guest
I resolve to stick to my Wii Fit goals. This program tracks my weight, BMI, time spent doing various activities, etc. It has really made me aware of how things like posture and balance affect your fitness and health! Also I want to eat more healthy, but I want to change these things gradually. The problem I have is that I want to jump in the deep end of the pool so to speak. And I think it might be better to step into the shallow end, get acclimated to that, then walk in a bit deeper, etc. That way these changes can become a part of my lifestyle. Also important is to make changes that I know I can maintain. I know for a fact that I can't spend 3 hours a day exercising, so I won't even try that! Better to do a little bit, and be consistent. So I'm starting with about 30 minutes per day for now, and adding some fruit to my diet for snacks. Hopefully by adding a healthy snack it will push something unhealthy out of my diet! Guest guest
Hi ,A client of mine showed me how she works out on her Wii and it looks like a blast! I've been hankering for a Wii for some time now but it's out of my budget. There are many benefits for having a Wii and exercising on it. If you have young children it makes it easier to exercise at home. One doesn't have to worry about the kiddos. And like you said, it is much cheaper than a gym membership in the long run and if you incorporate some slight weight training your pretty set. For me, a Wii and a " Shake Weight " " would make me very happy. =D I hope it works out for you and I would be interested in hearing weekly updates on how your doing and how the Wii as a fitness program is working out for you.Wishing you the best,Vi I resolve to stick to my Wii Fit goals. Guest guest
Ok, what criteria do you want me to report on? It tracks weight, BMI, and Wii Fit Age. I suppose I can report on those 3 things. I will have to get that info and start a weekly report.
