Oh, thank you for that, ! I really do believe that cows' milk is a

trigger - not only in type 1 but in type 2 diabetes. I'm forwarding it to my

home ISP.

Sheila, I believe that diabetes is a lifelong disease we were born with. If

you were given cows' milk from birthk, I suspect that increased your odds of

being diagnosed. But I think many other things bring it on too, among them

major surgery, stress, weight gain, and a sedentary lifestyle, as well as

(possibly) exposure to a virus.

Very possibly. And there you go with your doc recommending OJ! (See other

post). V.

Thanks for this feedback, Susie. I have all of the things you

mentioned, except recent major surgery. I had a hysterectomy the week

Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. Two years ago I had carpal tunnel

surgery.

I was a preemie, and my mother was very ill following my early birth.

She was unable to nurse, or even hold me, for the first two months of my

life. So, I probably was fed cow's milk!

Sheila, I'm forwarding your post to my home 'puter, where I have a subfolder

under Diabetes called " Cows' Milk. " Studies show type 1 can be caused by

drinking cows' milk from birth - and my hunch is that at least some type 2 is

a " milder form of type 1 " ... perhaps I would call it damage to pancreas beta

cells, but not complete destruction, that arises from an autoimmune response

to the cows' milk. Sheila wrote:

Hi Susie, just thought I'd throw this into the pot. If you remember, we

discussed this cow's milk thing about a year ago. I finally remembered to

ask my mother about it. She said that I was strictly a breast fed baby

until I was 2 years old. That really surprised me. I really figured I'd

been on cow's milk all of the time since I was born just a little over a

year after Mother lost her first baby. Oh well, then there's the stress

situation from the car wreck and losing my daddy, 6 cardiac arrests, and 2

breast surgeries all within a 3 year period prior to the diabetes diagnosis.

I still think I've been diabetic much longer but nobody ever realized it or

recognized it. I've certainly had all of the symptoms for a very long time.

I'm still trying to catch up on my reading emails so I won't go on further

at this point.

Hang in there kiddo.

Love,

Tootie
