Guest guest
For all that want to know how I'm doing without a shunt. This may not be true for everyone. I was on Methazolamide and that didn't help with my symptoms at all, so my primary prescribed Lasix which worked great for a couple of weeks, then symptoms started to come back. Symptoms without a shunt for me are bad. Nasty headaches, nausea and vomiting, visual, balance, reflux, difficult swallowing and breathing. I'm waiting for my incision to heal on top of my head, it's getting there but it's slow. My symptoms don't seem to vary, they are there every day, if they vary, they just get worse. Kathleen Hi Kathleen, You mentioned that you are without a shunt right now. I was wondering how your body is reacting -- ie, can you tell when your pressure is elevated? Do you find that your pressure varies from day to day? I am interested in avoiding a shunt, if possible. However, after this last 3 weeks of constant headache, nausea, vision changes, and greatly increased spinal pain, I am wondering why I woke this morning feeling better. Not complaining, mind you, lol! But I want some CONTROL. I have not found a local neurosurgeon willing to follow me, which is a huge problem. :-( As for the memory issues....sigh....I wish I could help with that, too.
