Guest guest Posted September 3, 2006 Report Share Posted September 3, 2006 Had a GREAT visit today with mumsie, let me share... * I had to share some news with her and she was very responsive and when I asked for advice she was able to give it to me. So THANKFUL for that! (her advice is " you'll be fine " good enough for me!!) * I was doing the 'finish the phrase' games with her again and when I said " good and... " Instead of bad she said " not so good " LOL * Another game from these pages are my saying a phrase and she'd imitate it - like " Wash your face " " Brush your hair " When I said " Drive a Car " she imitated opening the car door and SLAMMING it shut. She didn't fisish b/c that cracked me up and the two of us just had to share a loooong laugh about that. * I brought in some postcards (PS from doverpublications.com they have books of 24 postcards of famous artists like Monet - just $4-5 for 24 postcards and mom gets to pick the painting for whatever friend we're about to do -- another great project) and when I was showing the massage therapist, I said " and they're cheap! " and mom said " no, they're inexpensive. " HA HA * And one more... When it was time to write a postcard to the family priest - she asked me to find a postcard that was religious themed - she was determined to find the perfect postcard - we chose a postcard (painting) of a church. Another awesome day. AND mom fed herself 100% (sometimes she does most times she either needs to be fed or cueing (I put the food on the spoon - then she feeds herself) but not this time I just sat there with my hand under my chin watching her feed herself - it was awesome... I was about to write you a message and ask. You have her doing very well! What a good daughter you are. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. A Few Naranja Moments...
