Guest guest
I had decompression surgery in 2007 with two revisions also in 2007. My third surgery was by Dr. Ellenbogen in WA. Since then I have not been symptom free however I have not had any major problems requiering surgery. He did however let me know that my first surgeon had made my decompression site at least twice the size of normal. I have heard that most have a site the size of a quarter. So normally I have a sunken area in the back of my head. However lately each time I get a sever headache my decompression site swells up. I know live in New Orleans and have a different Neurosurgeon. It takes several months to get in with him. When I did see him I told him about the swelling with my headache. However he said that there was no sign of swelling on my MRI and without it showing it must not be of any importance. He also said if I could show him the swelling he might be able to do something. Since it takes months to get in with him I can't exactly show him when my head is swolen. I feel like I am truly caught in a catch twenty two. I am just wondering if any one might have any idea of what is going on. One last thing. On my last CINE MRI the results found that I had good flow interior however 80% blockage posterior. I think this may have something to do with the problem. Once again my new Neurosurgeon did not feel that the blockage could cause any problems. Obviously he is not a specialist. With my insurance though I have very few choices on who I can see. If you have any ideas how to relieve the pressure I would alo appriciate any solutions.
