I am so very sorry to hear about your mother's condition. If it is a stroke as

Carol shared I

hope it is mild. My mom had a seizure like episode while still in her own

apartment,

actually stopped breathing and turned blue, then rallied on her own. Not the

passing out

from lowered BP, but something that actually presented like a seizure, did not

have any

long lasting effects. Thinking of you both.

, Oakville Ont.

Mother, age 92, died Aug. 12/06 after 13 year decline from PDD

- it was good talking with you several times today - I wish

your situation were different. Your cell phone battery must have

given out, but I left this idea on your voicemail, too. I was talking

with Peggy and she mentioned that her Mom (LBD per autopsy) had

" seizures of sorts " which were actually caused by UTIs and were

myclonic (sp?) jerks. It's like the brain misfiring due to the attack

on the immune system. Whenever my dad (LBD per me and Dr. Barnea) had

an abrupt change in either physical or mental presentation, I always

had them check for a Urinary Tract Infection first. Once you rule out

UTI, then you can get on with the more expensive (and sometimes scary)

tests and procedures. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your

loved ones. Cyberhugs, Carol

Oh, ,

There is no good day for a stroke. For you there couldn't be a worse day.

Prayers and good thoughts to you and your Mom.

I know you are planning a full day of your own tomorrow. I am so sorry about

that. You have done so much planning for the AD walk.

And I know the walk isn't as important as your Mom, but you must be disappointed

at this point.

Hugs, and keep us updated.

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

a nh.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.
