Guest guest
BJ, Yes, the R must be for random as I was not fasting. Yes, I leak milk from my breasts and the doctor says since my pituitary numbers are ok, then we won't worry about the milk leakage. The spiro is spironolactone that is for lowering my DHEA levels. I am on a half a pill and he wants to higher it to one full pill, but he said he can't because my blood pressure is sooooo low. Yes, I always get my blood drawn at 11:00 am at the same lab. I take my NDT the morning BEFORE and then the morning of, I do NOT take my NDT or any other medication. I do it the same way each time I get my blood drawn. No, the TT3 was not a typo!!! I couldn't believe those numbers! And I've had no heart problems at all...no hard thumpings or anything...my heart has felt just fine. This dr. already gave me the prescription for all the bloodwork to be repeated in two months. However, he's leaving his practice... OH GOODNESS.....that's so cool that your cousin lives in Durango! I live in Cortez, which is 45 miles from Durango and we get all our medical care IN Durango...the kids' pediatricians are over there and the one doctor, Zink, is in the same building as my kids' pediatricians!!! Does your cousin have thyroid issues?? I looked at the websites and it does not mention either one of these doctors treating thyroid issues. I teach K-5...I am the media specialist, so I run the library and the computer lab. I have an aide that helps me, so it's wonderful! It's at my daughters school, so her class comes to me twice a week! I absolutley love it! I have 450 kids that I get to see twice a week. I always wanted lots of kids....I love kids! I am just so thankful that I have so much more energy this year to teach as opposed to last year! I feel so much happier this year too!!!! I've always thought about teaching at a private school....maybe some day... BJ- I feel you should just go to med school, get your diploma....and then TREAT ME!!!! Have you ever considered this??? My sister is in Med School right now at CU Denver, maybe I can talk her into going into a thyroid speciality?? Well- take care...and thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much...I don't know what I'd do without you!!!! The R in the glucose test possibly stands for **random** meaning the test was not done while fasting. I may have you mistaken with someone else, but I thought you had leakage from your breasts, which could indicate a problem in the pituitary or its function, or calcium handling in the body, etc. HCT stands for hematocrit. It is ALWAYS done with a (HGB) hemoglobin test on the CBC panel. It must be written as something else on the lab slip. What **spiro** stuff are you talking about? BTW, something else that caught my eye, are you getting your blood drawn at the same lab and at the day time of day? Are you taking your NDT before testing? If so, how soon after taking your med do you get your blood drawn? I test at least 8 hours after taking a dose. I usually take my T med at 6 am and test between 3-4 pm and then another dose right after leaving the lab. However you do it, do it the same consistently. Testing right after a dose the FT4 should not rise that much but since T3 is fast acting it can raise the FT3 level very high temporarily. If this is what happening your FT3 is falsely high so you may or may not need an increase in the NDT. Since you/your doc are comparing apples to oranges FT3 vs TT3, because the FT3 test was NOT run. Also, having T3 as high as that lab shows you should have had severe heart symptoms. (was the TT3 number a typo?) Your doc should have rerun the TT3 test to verify if this is a lab error -and- also a FT3 test. My FT3 is always about 40% lower in its range than my Total T3 is in its range when ran at the same time. FT4 vs TT4 not so much of a difference. Make sure that these tests are run again for comparison in a few months. If the ones that are out of range stay there you need to find a doc that will solve this puzzle. I found these links on two CO doctors that my cousin goes to. Don't know if they are near you or not. She lives near the small town of Durango CO. It's in southwest CO near where CO, UT, AZ and NM traverse. Glanville MD, BPCThttp://rmintegrativemedicine.com/medicine/index.htm~~ AND ~~ Zink, CNP, MShttp://www.southwestwomenshealth.com/Glad to hear things are better for you now. I hope you have a wonderful year teaching. What grade are you teaching? You must have a huge amount of patience and diplomacy. My oldest sister is a kindergarten teacher and it was very stressful in goverment schools so she finally changed to a private school and really loves it even though she doesn't get huge retirements benefits like in government schools. Anyway, I wish you and your students a very good year. To wellness, ~Bj> > >> > > > > > So....My doc says...stay on meds...see you back in 2 months.
