Launch of Autism and Beyond Websitehttp://www.examiner.com/special-needs-kids-in-san-antonio/launch-of-autism-and-beyond-website

Children with Autism have become a rapidly growing population in the past few years.  So much so that universities around the country are offering degrees specifically geared for specialists working with this population.  With Autism at the forefront of the minds of many, parents and caregivers are becoming leaders within their community, taking action to make sure that their loved ones are receiving the services that they need and deserve to become fully functional members of society and to reach their full potential.

Most recently in the San area an organization, Autism and Beyond, has begun providing resources to families and professionals in the area.  It is a a non-profit charity organization created by a group of parents of children and adults with Autism and related disabilities.  As quoted from their website, they " offer support, guidance, assistance, training, public awareness activities and personal advocacy to ensure the rights of children and adults with disabilities, and their families are respected and enforced. "

Their new website inculdes information of their Board of Directors, information on how to donate and become a member, as well as an online store.  Also included in the website is a calendar of events.  Their upcoming workshop is on behavior management with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis.  It will be given by Rick Gutierrez, M.S., Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  He is the Clinical Administrator at Applied Behavior Consultants, Inc.  More information on this event can be found on their website.
