Job Opportunity/ Art Therapy Guidance

Hello NYCCAT,

I have talked to several Art Therapist and some of their feedback on Art Therapy

is very interesting especially from my standpoint. I will be a recent graduate,

with a Bachelor's in Art Therapy this May and am looking for employment, which

right now is tough. I have been applying for Recreation positions with nursing

homes and afterschool programs in New York and Long Island. I was wondering if

anyone has heard of any positions available in NY or Long Island area for

recreation or as a camp counselor. Also it would be great to get some opinions

on Art Therapy today and what more can be done in schools, hospitals and other

organizations. By recieving a Bachelors in Art Therapy, what other careers are

using Art Therapy and the best ways to get your foot in the door before getting

a master's degree or any health profession services.
