Hi ,

Good luck on the interview, although it sounds like you've got

a " lock " on it already. Just try to appear confident, (without

being arrogant), and you shouldn't have any problem. BTW, I hope

you're soon up for *another* promotion, somewhere else, because

I wouldn't want to move to Wisconsin for all the milk and cheese

in the state. From what I've heard, Wisconsin is almost as bad

as Canada for autistics. Glad to hear you're recovering well

from the surgery.

me, which is really good. I work on computers for the Department of

Veteran's Affairs, and there is an unwritten rule I discovered that if

you want to get promoted, you have to be willing to move to different

Veteran's Affairs hospitals to do it. I've been looking to move up

north, but it seems a place found me. The VA hospital in Madison, WI,

wanted to interview me for their System Administrator postion so

badly, that before they received my CV, they already bought a plane

ticket and have arranged for a hotel for me, complete with money for

food and taxi next week. It's a nice surprise for me, and I hope I

don't freeze up during the interview, since this will be an automatic

promotion for me, and also a rather substantial pay increase. I'll be

flying up on Sunday and coming back Tuesday evening, so it will be a

quick trip, and hopefully, I'll know whether I got the job very soon

afterwards.

there, and that I'm actually healing faster than normal, which is

definitely a good thing. In fact, I'm healing so quickly, he took my

staples out a full week ahead of schedule. I still have to wear the

compression vest for a few weeks though.

Thanks, Clay!

I used to live in Wisconsin until the summer of 1994, and actually had rather

fond memories of it. The school I went to was a private school, which may have

helped with that, since I didn't know how the school system treated anyone with

AS, and that was also before AS was an official diagnosis as well.

Marvelous news . Here's to a challenging rewarding 2006 for you.

They already want you, you'll be impressive in that interview without even

knowing it, is my bet.

I'd also add to bring some " evidence " with you that you can do the

job. Anything that is " real " (I.E. can be held) that shows that you

know what you are doing. Things like degrees, certificates, manuals

you have written, letters of recommendation, etc. Something they can

remember you showing them during the interview.
