Carolyn,

What form of magnesium are you taking? If it's magnesium oxide, very little

magnesium gets absorbed, and you won't get the calming effects that you

should. The best forms are magnesium chloride (a topical oil), magnesium

taurate, magnesium glycinate, and magnesium citrate. Or take a bath in

epsom salts, which is magnesium sulfate. The magnesium chloride and epsom

salts are two forms that won't give you diarrhea.

Also, you might not be taking enough magnesium for the amount of calcium

you're taking. Calcium creates a need for more magnesium. Try skipping

your calcium for a while so your magnesium level will come up.

Lynn,

I hae been taking magnesium oxide, as it is easier to get and cheaper. I take

1200 mg twice a day and am still constipated. I also take 1500 mg Vit C twice

a day also. It is such a tremendous problem. I will literally go for days and

days without going at all. I had been staying away from the epsom salts baths

because of having the mercury fillings. I have been taking calcium for

several years as I had a complete hysterectomy and was told to take it to

prevent

bone loss.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply!

OK - I'll increase my vitamin C and see if that helps with the constipation.

I just increased my Armour to 1/4 grain twice a day. I have to go slowly as I

get palps, etc. easily.

I have started taking my calcium later in the day because of the Armour.

Someone told me not to take them together. I have been buying both my Calcium

and

Magnesium at Walmart - I think the brand is Spring Valley.

1500 Mg Vitamin C is NOT enough! I use Emergen-C as it contains 1000MG

per packet and I use abotu 3-5 packets a day. Try increasing your C and

see if it helps, and of course more Armoru will also help this.

I take 3000mg magnesium and 8000mg Vit C. Just keep going up

gradually until you notice a difference

do you take your magnesium with calcium? do you mind telling me where you buy

your magnesium - brand etc., and how much (if at all) calcium you take with it?

i'm still trying to figure this all out. i just started taking sea salt, and

some of my circulation issues went away. i always thought this was related to

me gaining weight from my thyroid issues. for a few years now, walking in the

morning or when i've been lying down for awhile felt difficult - as if the

circulation in my feet wasn't right. it would take a few minutes for my body to

get used to walking around - or to wake up, so to speak. the sea salt has

totally helped with this. but today, i feel very tired in my legs upper legs

specifically, and not my feet.

i realize what a delicate balance all of this is - with our salt intake. i

also assume overloading on potassium would be bad. but trying to keep up with

it all - magnesium, calcium, vit cs etc., wow. it requires a lot of attention.

Null makes a very nice powdered Vit C with several types of C in it. I

cannot afford it but when it is getting near to being out of date, The

Vitamin Shoppe puts it on sale for 75% off. It is cherry flavored too and

easy to get a large amount of C per day via putting it in water or

sprinkling it in tea or in cereal.
