Some of my posts are delayed a day or so! I wonder what is going on. Anyway, I think it would be a great idea to add this guy to the list, if you think he is considerate. That counts ALOT! If he has done a good job of explanting you and you are certain he did it right, then I would say he is a go for adding. Their bedside manner is so important, and it sounds like he was listening to you. You can send his info and I can add it....the choice is yours! One time does not a good explant doctor make. So, being on the safe side, I never add a doctor to my list unless they are proven. Guest guest Posted March 20, 2006 Report Share Posted March 20, 2006 It's true...our list has alot of doctors on there that surprise us with a negative stance on the whole illness connection and bad bedside manner. I have often wondered if we shouldn't just scrap it and start a new one because there are names on there that I have no clue how good they are, or how friendly they will be to our women. I have to wonder how some of them got on the list in the first place...from one time explants? I have no idea how that list got started! I think I got it from Barbara Stock. Having said that, I also know that there are women seeking help in many areas of the country that have no recommended doctor listed. The options become so limited. My hope is that we can cover all 50 states with at least one doctor who has shown himself or herself willing to listen to the patient and perform a correct explant. If we get a good report, I think we can add them as a potential recommended doc, based on a good report. That includes respect, willing to do a total capsulectomy, and good bedside manner. But I will always caution women to be knowledgeable before going in for a consult and be firm in what they request for a proper explant. I also think that perhaps some of those other doctors become hesitant to be known as good explanters, based on the politically correct position they need to take to protect their reputation. We all know what happens to the doctors who stand with us. They are not treated very well by their peers, are they? I think that is what happened with my explanting PS. He got scared of being known as " one on our list " . It takes someone of good moral character to stand firm in what they believe to be right. Maybe you can go both ways, having a doctor but sorta warning women that they must be firm in what they want and be able to insist it be done right. Doctors are sometimes afraid to be on our lists, I am certain of that.
