Guest guest
Not Medicare…for disability, you have to meet the two years ofdisability before you get Medicare. I haven’t heard of anything…. California Medi-cal has been possible for patients to get w/i1-2 days based on disability. Guest guest
Not for MediCARE - they have to be disabled two years before they are eligible. I've not heard of any circumstance where they would be eligible sooner. We have been able to expedite the state MediCAID coverage though. I think sometimes explanation of the two processes get mixed up!>>> 2/22/2011 10:27 AM >>> FYI Has anyone had any experience with patient getting medicare based on disability in 1 or 2 days. Guest guest
In some cases you can call the Social Security Disability determination service and they will expediate the determination of disability. However, as stated earlier, the patient will still have to wait 2 years to recieve Medicare. You will be able to apply for your state medicaid and hopefully get a determination of coverage sooner. Guest guest
That kind of turn around is unheard of but...if the pt is deemed to have been disabled for the previous 29 months at the point they apply for SSDI, then SSA will award the Medicare based on the qualifying period being met w/the retroactivity. on Transplant Financial Coordinator Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital Legacy Transplant Services 1040 NW 22nd Ave Ste 480 Portland OR 97210 direct main office toll-free fax lmorriso@... -----Original Message-----From: TxFinancialCoordinators [mailto:TxFinancialCoordinators ]On Behalf Of Sent: Tuesday, February 22, 2011 8:27 AMTo: TxFinancialCoordinators Subject: RE: expidited medicare FYIHas anyone had any experience with patient getting medicare based on disability in 1 or 2 days.
