Liver Tx candidate with $250K lifetime limit on Transplant

Hello fellow TFC's, I was wondering whether the newHealthcare Reform stipulation (summary) below would apply to a Liver Txcandidate with $250K lifetime limit on Transplant as his wife's policy waseffective on 01/01/10: " On September 23, 2010 we no longerhave to worry about lifetime limits on essential health benefits. The PPACAprohibits lifetime limits from being imposed by group health plans, grouphealth insurance coverage and individual health insurance coverage. Restrictedannual limits will continue to be imposed until January 1, 2014 on both new andgrandfathered (existing) group plans. Prior to 2014, new and grandfatheredgroup plans may impose the following “restricted annual limits”:· Fora plan year beginning on or after September 23, 2010, but before September 23,2011 - $750,000. · Fora plan year beginning on or after September 23, 2011, but before September 23,2012 - $1, 250,000. · Fora plan year beginning on or after September 23, 2012, but before January 1,2014 - $2,000,000.
