Guest guest
Hi Val and others...wondering if I can get some input on what to do in my situation. I was taking Allergy Research adrenal cortex (4 capsules a day) for about 6 months due to bad adrenal symtpoms (after starting Armour) and abyssmal morning and early afternoon saliva cortisol results. It helped me tolerate Armour, and I got up to 2 grains. I got Isocort finally because people here rave about it and I wanted to know how much cortisol I was getting roughly. And frankly, I still feel like total crap and have many many symptoms still. Oh and I was taking the Allergy Research stuff during my saliva test and couldn't believe how low my numbers were even when taking the stuff. So I switched to Isocort and felt much worse. I tried taking 8 pellets a day and didn't like the way I felt at all. So I stopped and I was all out of the other stuff and I saw I wasn't getting shaky or getting a high heart rate or palps anymore. So I stopped it. Even though my doctor wants me to continue it. I was concerned about it given Tish's detailed research about it. I started licorice and ashwaghanda. Why did I not feel good on Isocort? It could be that Allergy Research is much more potent and I had been taking more than I was with the Isocort? I still have many symptoms and I am a clear candidate for cortex or HC, but in the back of my head I keep thinking 'but if I can get by without it wouldn't that be better?' But I don't want to just 'get by'. I want to feel normal and not be in pain. And also my husband and I started trying to conceive and it's been on hold since I found out I was hypo and if I start cortex or HC I shouldn't get pregnant right? Sorry for the length. I just need some help deciding what to do...obviously, lol. If I'm in denial about this needing adrenal support thing please tell me. Guest guest
If the adrenal cortex was working for you, use it. Maybe it is stronger than Isocort, we will never know. If it does not work for you, get some Cortef. EVERY major doctor's books I have read state that your adrenals WILL recover IF they can. No matter how long you take cortef, but you MUST to get your thyroid where it needs to be. I am sorry I disagree with Tish completely on this subject as I feel she is letting her own fears cloud her writing about it. Every thing she sent to the other list about dangers of Cortisol were from pharmacological doses, NOT 20-30 MG like I have read about in SO many places that say it is perfectly SAFE in these doses. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Thanks . It's very helpful to hear that. I'm not entirely sure if it was working. It definitely helped me raise my Armour. What else it helped with I'm not sure. So maybe it is time for HC. My doc will prescribe it for me if I want. He just wants to use it as a last resort b/c unlike Armour, it's not clear when you are taking too much of it until later on down the line. But, he was probably referring to pharm. doses. > > If the adrenal cortex was working for you, use it. Maybe it is stronger > than Isocort, we will never know. Guest guest
http://featherstone.bravehost.com/thyroid/peatfieldadrenal.html I am reposting this article from Peatfield. Anyone that is concerned with taking HC to support your adrenals should read this. Jeffries and many others concur it is safe to take it this way. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
Hi Mo, If you go to the files section and look under Adrenal Info and there is a folder that says 'Adrenal Support 101 - Tips by Tish' or something like that. Also, you can go to the Thyroid group and search for 'Tish'. Every time she posts I learn something. > Hi > I wonder if you could point me in the right direction to access the > information, research, you mentioned above? > thanks. > > Mo >
