Guest guest
A safe phrase is "My thoughts and care are with you during this difficulttime." And you can say "I know so-and so will be missed by all who knew andloved him/her" while thinking to yourself, so-and-so was so a terrible humanthat he/she wasn't loved at all. I prefer the first but if you care for thegrieving party then the second is at least truthful because it doesn'tidentify you as someone who gives a rat's behind. Good advice and not EVERYONE mourns some one who passes who thinks death was to GOOD for them as they should of suffered more for what they did to others. You just NEVER say that to the grieving family as it is disrespectul which IS a cultural norm. Just my 2 cents worth as usual.
