Guest guest
Hi - I read somewhere recently that Alka Seltzer Gold is good to use for detox or herxs and wonder if anyone has used it. I cannot find the article right now that I read it in and feel a little foggy in the brain. I found this product in the store so now I wonder if it is something I should try. The article stressed that only the " gold " one is good to use. Blessings, Meo
Guest guest
Alka Seltzer gold works fine. It contains sodium bicarbinate so watch your blood pressure and it also contains blood thinner. > > Hi - I read somewhere recently that Alka Seltzer Gold is good to use for detox or herxs and wonder if anyone has used it. Guest guest
I always keep ASG on hand because it helps alkalize the body and that usually helps hurting joints during herxes. Whenever I eat nightshade (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, potatoes,) or too much citrus, they tend to cause my joint pain, but ASG will neutralize their effect. Any morning I awaken with herx pain, I get up, take ASG, go back to bed, and within a half hour or so, the pain is markedly reduced. Everyone is different, so I can't speak for how it might work for others. I never use pain meds; not even regular Alka-seltzer, just the Alka-Seltzer Gold. Sometimes it's hard to find, but Amazon carries it.Be well,LenaHi - I read somewhere recently that Alka Seltzer Gold is good to use for detox or herxs and wonder if anyone has used it. Guest guest
I read somewhere recently that Alka Seltzer Gold is good to use for detox or herxs and wonder if anyone has used it. At the advice of an allergy doctor several decades ago, I've used Alka Seltzer Gold on a somewhat regular basis. He first suggested it as a means for clearing allergy symptoms and it does help with that at times. It also helps me with herxes at times, too.To me, it's fairly pricey at $6.50 a box and I wonder if anyone has any good ideas about buying it more cheaply or in bulk.Blue
Guest guest
My LLMD suggested it for herxes or for alkalizing if you eat something you are sensitive to. I know in Mpls area, CVS Pharmacies always have it. Hope that helps. Jodie
Guest guest
Amazon offeres it more cheaply, but if you really want to economize, as i often do, simply take baking soda in water; it's the same thing. Or, if you don't like the taste of B.S. as I did, put it in capsules and take it that way.Be well,Léna I read somewhere recently that Alka Seltzer Gold is good to use for detox or herxs and wonder if anyone has used it. Guest guest
Alka seltzer contains sodium bicarbonate (nothing but baking soda ) so you have to watch blood pressure from the sodium and water retention. another material in it is plain old Asprin 350 mg.a blood thinner. you can get Herx relief from baking soda just as well but it does not taste a good as Alka Seltzer. Some of us with Lyme need the blood thinning but you can get too much if you have to take alka seltzer several times a day. > > > it also contains blood thinner. > > > Which part is a blood thinner, please? > > Thanks, > Blue >
Guest guest
We've been discussing Alka-Seltzer Gold; not regular Alka-Seltzer. Guest guest
Amazon offeres it more cheaply, but if you really want to economize, as i often do, simply take baking soda in water; it's the same thing. Thanks for the Amazon tip. I had checked it out on Amazon a few years ago and, if I'm remembering correctly, it didn't seem any cheaper once the shipping cost was figured in. Always worth looking again though! As for Alka Seltzer Gold being the same thing as baking soda, it's not. Baking soda is a single ingredient; Alka Gold has three active ingredients. Yeah, I know what you mean about the taste. I do prefer the Alka Gold. Most importantly, I also feel a different, better, effect from it.Just an aside, I used to get severe acid reflux in the middle of the night, to the point of being ready to go to the emergency room, and Alka Gold was the only thing that could diminish the symptoms.Regards,Blue
